We went here on 6/6/2022 as part of our north carolina vacation. After going to outback, where there was a hour wait, we decided on here. Now normally, i do not eat mexican food, so was a little edgy on being here. there were lots of people at the door here as well. But we were a party of 3, and was seated quickly. We were greeted at the host stand quick, and our server also attended to us quickly. Server was very nice and attentive. We were first served with Chips and Salsa, which the salsa had quite a kick!!! For drinks, we ordered 3 waters, and an orange soda. they were out of fanta, but supplied me with a bottle of mexican orange soda. still tasted the same! For entrees, which we took a bit to order-- I ordered the La Forgata Fagita with shrimp, my dad ordered the Fagita with steak, shrimp, and chicken, and my mom ordered an enchadala. all was well, and enjoyable. Food was so good that i took it home, and we finished it at another time. pretty good food, as well as the rice that came with it! Price of food was okay. would come here again should i ever visit.

Wonderful, friendly service is a strong part of the high marks here. 🌮 The atmosphere is welcoming and festive. 🌮 There’s nothing particularly innovative on the vegetarian menu, but at least it’s there, with multiple combo options, and that is greatly appreciated! 🌮 My Spanish rice and tostada were good. The cheese enchilada gets a lower score; the sauce needs a bit of work, as it was insipid, without piquancy or depth. But high marks on the adequate sauce volume provided; there’s nothing worse than a dry, under-sauced and over-cheesed enchilada, and this was definitely not that. 🌮 The complimentary chips and salsa were also greatly appreciated; too many Mexican places have started charging for this, and I find that reprehensible. The salsa had a nice spicy punch, a bit more than typical in this type of restaurant, and was great on the tostada.

My husband and i love Mexican food so every new town or state we visited we usually try to look for authentic Mexican restaurant and as always we usually order the same food always our favorite Carne asada with corn tortilla on the side. Their carne asada was the best on that night. We stopped by right before they close. They are the only few restaurant that we are passing by that was open that late. The food was so delish, it was so good. I was totally satisfied. There so much flavor in the meat. This is our second time here, the first time i was not impressed so i thin it was a different cook on the first time we came. Prices are not bad. We found our new fav resto in NC. Next time we visit will deff. Stop by here again.

If you don't have money for a sizable tip, don't go to this restaurant, they will harass you and I'll explain this at the end. The service was not that great, our waiter had to be called twice by another waiter. We were there for about 45 min total, and he only came back once to our table to refill our drinks. The food is Americanized mexican food, not authentic. Most of the soft tacos and burritos have what we called "taco bell meat",instead of actual chopped beef, they put white cheese on top of everything including rice. The female bathrooms smelled like urine and there was water near and around the toilets, both of them. The only two good things about the restaurant what their Horchata, and the easy access to the restaurant from the main road, hence the one star. So, back to the tip, like I said, the food and the service was not that great. So my family left a 10% tip for the meal. My mother left hers on the table, and everyone else left it in their credit card. So, we're leaving the venue, and I'm in my car with my kids.... And here comes the waiter and stops at my car window to say " was the service so bad that you only left $5 dollars?, wow, really? ( my mom was only giving a tip for herself and my 2 year old nephew). So I said "Everyone else left a tip". He said "no, there are only $5 dollars, that's it, next time I'll just add the gratuity to your bill" At this point I'm flabbergasted that he had the guts to come outside and talk to me about this, TRYING to embarrass me. So I tell him "everyone else left a tip on their credit card, not on the table, and now because of your attitude, you just earned a very negative review on the restaurant". The waiter came outside before asking to see the tips on the cards, he just saw the cash and was mad, this shows the character of the restaurant and management. Never going there again. Or any Fogata restaurant for...

I rarely give a place a bad review. This place is awful. I can't comment on the food because we didn't get that far. After waiting a while for the waitor, the waiter was incredibly rude when ordering. We tried to order our small child a soft taco on the kids menu. He told us it's hard tacos only (menu doesn't indicate) or they could give us an upcharge. When asking to do all rice instead of rice and beans it was an upcharge. When we stated that the menu was not clear on all their upcharge rules he was rude and said we could go elsewhere and it would be better for him anyway. We got up to leave and I said something about this not being a good way to get a good review the hostess were rude and said we aren't worried about your bad review we have plenty of business. I have never been spoken to like that by a wait staff ever. They don't think they have to worry about the service, tips, and upcharges because it's in a tourist area and tourists will put up with their bad behavior. Tourists should start standing up against behavior like this and remind businesses that in order for you to make money you have to have customers, in order to have customers you have to treat them well. There are 500 other places to go in Nags head they do not corner the market on Mexican food.

*no substitutions without high upcharge *soft tacos are an upcharge *1 basket of chips and salsa no matter the size of your party. After that it is $2.95. *charge on refills *4 items on kids menu no substitutions kids menus stops at 8 years old. *rude waitstaff and hostess *salsa tasted like tostitos jar salsa *substandard choices for a higher price

There are several other Mexican restaurants in the area that are much nicer, better food, and service. Don't fall into the tourist trap...

I came here October 26th with my Fiancè, 6 year old son, SIL and her boyfriend while visiting them on their vacation! Our waitress was amazing but, the food was bland, the meat was mushy like mashed potatoes, the enchiladas sauce was like a orangish brown color, the rice tasted like fish. This was brought up to the waiter who got the manager. When the manager came up he was already hostile like he wanted to fight my fiancé because he didn’t like the food. When the manager walked up his remark to my fiancé was, “do you have a problem man. What’s your problem?” We were also told “only 1 out of 230,000 dishes served your the only one that doesn’t like it.” He then walked away just to come back to tell my fiancé to pay and leave which we were already waiting for the check at this point. The manager had the hostess, and another waitress/manager staring us down meanly until we left. My fiance took a bite out of everything he ordered keep in mind but, none of it tasted right. The manager was highly hostile for no reason what so ever and acting like a high schooler. This is no way business should be conducted. After leaving I looked at the reviews and my fiancé wasn’t the only person to feel the way he did. For this to happen in front of my disabled son was not okay either! I wouldn’t recommend...
