Y'all, I just can't... ordered a sandwich combo with an iced coffee. While the place was clean and the staff friendly I can't deal with what just happened.. (they did remake my sandwich fresh, but it's still such a disappointing experience)
Sandwich ordered was supposed to come with lettuce and an onion ring among other things. Lettuce was left off, we were told that they had been delivered expired lettuce. That's fine. I can forgive that. Please don't give me expired food. I appreciated the honesty, though I wish they had mentioned it beforehand
Onion ring was left off but had chopped up onions on it. Figured maybe they just made a completely different sandwich or mixed up my order. Was told they do not make onion rings at that location. Really? Giant pictures of onion rings are posted as far as the eye can see.. you just.. don't do them? Okay. So there was no way for them to know that I HATE raw onions, but if they had mentioned this fun fact before hand, I could have asked them to leave it off and not bother with remaking a new one.
I informed them that maybe their ice coffee/cold brew maker was messed up because it tasted like water. Like if you ordered a real ice coffee and finished it, then drank the melted ice later. I wouldn't have bothered if I wasnt already correcting my sandwich order, but they said, "oh that's just how we make it, I don't like it either" Y'ALL.. that broke me.
Anyway, I despise Entitled Karen types so I hope you don't see me as one. We were trying to grab food before travelling through a storm and I try to be completely understanding when it comes to kitchen mishaps having worked in the industry and dealing with rude customers but I felt like I had to share. Again.. they remade my sandwich so I wouldn't have to deal with the raw onions, but I honestly would not have typed out this novel of a review if they had just let me know this stuff before hand so I'd have reasonable expectations.
Oh, and while some staff were wearing masks outside when we pulled up, the ones gathered around while attempting to correct my order were not. The large group huddled in the kitchen were not wearing masks as far as I could tell either. If my husband hadn't already finished his food (his was wrong too, but he doesnt mind raw onions and tbh was exhausted and would have eaten anything at that point so he just dealt with it) I would have asked for a refund and tried to find something else.
My tots were fine and they gave us all the ketchup we could dream of so there's...
Read moreI would leave no ☆'s but google makes you at least leave 1 ☆ This location isn't deserving of 1☆. So to start, NONE of the drive up order kiosk machines were operable. Drive-thru Only! No credit or debit cards in a time when all other stores and fast food establishments are begging for card use or exact change because of a coin shortage. 🪙 Cash wasnt a problem. Except they dont tell you that until youve waited for 30 minutes to get to the window. (Nice young ladies told me this to save me some time.) So i didn't wait in the line. Instead my wife walked up to the door to kindly ask for a glass of tea. Thats all we wanted was a Route 44 sweet tea. ( glass doors and windows 🪟 that you can easily see through. 3 different people looked at her and she even waved to them. Noone ever acknowledged her being there. But thats okay while my wife stood there she gained lots of useful insight into this establishment. Okay first: there was 3 signs posted in plain view of the customers. They should have been posted in an employee lounge, or near the time clock. 1st note read. Wear gloves., wash your hands. Okay thats good to see. Lol. 2nd note. MOD is the only one allowed to have a phone in the building. Lastly and the kicker 🙄 3rd note read ; The front of the restaurant is gross, does anyone know what a rag is ? Perhaps hot soapy water? If you dont please see a manager. CLEAN THE SHAKE MACHINE'S THEY'RE GROSS! Just above the notes was worn falling in ceiling tiles. That appeared to have MOLD all over them. There sanitation rating wasnt very good and the inside of the store looked filthy. Im glad we didnt end up ordering from here. Instead we drove up to taco bell and got a tasty glass of sweet tea. Management needs to manage and they need to do alot of cleaning house. Would not recommend this Sonic to anyone. Take the drive across the bridge 30 minutes and get yourself some real deal Sonic and service! At the...
Read moreDO NOT EVER GIVE THIS SORRY PLACE YOUR BUSINESS!!! Coming from a young adult that has been in the customer service industry for 10+ years, you know that no matter the situation you must remain professional; regardless of how the customer is acting or what they are saying to you. To call my almost 60 year old mother (I’m sorry mom!!!) a “miserable old lady” and she needs to “learn to treat people better” because she used curse words while speaking to you is BEYOND me. She waited patiently for 3 fountain drinks after placing a mobile order and saw 5-6 cars go through the drive through and leave with their orders. So she kindly walked to the door and walked inside to ask if they had received her mobile order and that she had checked into the stall about 15 mins ago. The gentleman very rudely greeted her & grumpily said “can I help you?!” and that’s when she explained the situation. He continued to be unpleasant so she asked for a refund. They in return told her “we can’t do that” and then she asked for her TIP back that she gave them and they said they couldn’t do that and proceeded to shoo her out the door. That’s when he followed her out of the door and told her that she needed to better herself and stop cursing at people. Moral of the story is…my mother has a heart of gold (served 27 years in Dare County as a certified Paramedic) and it takes A LOT for that woman to get upset enough to cuss. So I know for a fact that “man” was an asshat. Needless to say I took it upon myself to call the NH Sonic location several times but was unable to reach anyone or leave a message. So I escalated things to corporate and am now waiting on a call from their management personnel in roughly 48 hours. I have also contacted the local owner Jason Mayou several times and left voicemails; I have yet to...
