We just moved from Coeur d’Alene, ID last year and have been to almost a dozen Mexican food places trying to find a decent new go to place!
We are looking for: •Ambiance (we don’t want a quiet place, I feel like the louder it is the more at home you feel) •Margaritas (a place that doesn’t just use mix and has good mix in options) •Chips and Salsa (this is key, we don’t want a place that limits/charges you and of course it’s gotta be good and a little spicy) •Tacos/Meat (we’re looking for juicy, SEASONED, flavorful meats in good portion sizes) •Price (if we’re spending today’s prices it better be worth it!) •and lastly: Service!!!! (We have a 10 month old and are already fearful enough to bring her out not knowing how the meal will go, we want to not feel like a bother and have friendly faces to chat with!)
And this place hit EVERY. SINGLE. MARK. we were greeted by a hostess who sat us immediately and on Taco Tuesday so we were nervous, and immediately had chips and salsa and oooo it was so good, chips were hot so the salt we added stuck and made it perfect. The salsa had a tiny bit of spice but was visually seasoned and the perfect mix of chunky and thin! We had the sweetest server who brought us out beans for our daughter right away and got our drink orders/food orders and checked in with us frequently! We had two other employees bring out things to us, both of them, as well as every employee we interacted with talked to our daughter and made us feel right at home.
The taco Tuesday deal was epic and we got soooooo full and TWO margaritas for under $50!! We will 100% be back and cannot wait to make this place our go to! Even though they have a great rating, it’s not enough. This place is an amazing Mexican option if you’re looking for a good vibe, great food and delicious margaritas and chips and salsa!!
Sadly I didn’t get any pictures but don’t let the outside fool you, the best places are in the most random locations! I also Haven’t tried their taco truck but they said it was...
Read moreService was a 10, waitress was on her game. Salsa was extremely good, it was chunky with pieces of tomato and onion that you could see, I little bit heavy on the cilantro but I don't think I'm in love with cilantro as much as the average person, at least it wasn't that pureed tomato, cilantro, and garlic water like a lot of the more authentic Mexican restaurants serve, I'd give it a 7.5. They also serve refried beans with the chips that was also very good. I ordered the chile relleno and a ground beef inchilada. Both were above average, not the best I've had but better than most places in town, I'd give both of them and the rice an 8. Since we already had refried beans on the table I went for the whole beans on my dish thinking if there was anything I didn't eat it would probably be them. They were the best whole pinto beans I've ever tasted (not sure how they do it, they are just pinto beans) I give them a 10, I wouldn't go to the restaurant just for the pinto beans but they were a nice surprise. It was happy hour and they had buy one margarita get the next one for a dollar. I had two. They were made perfect (I don't think there's an art to making margaritas by any means) they had about the right amount of alcohol that you would expect out of a good margarita. I'd give them an 8.5. I'll end it with a 10 for bang for your buck, it cost about half what you would spend at Texas Roadhouse or the Olive Garden. Overall for this type of restaurant I'd throw them an 8.75, highly recommend...
Read moreNEVER COMING BACK HERE. I've been to this place a few good times. And this visit today was the worst!!! What happened!? The service was awful from the hostess to our waitress. Young hostess giving eye rolls and attitude?? I wanted to snap at her! And she even skipped us in line saying our device wasn't working! So seat the ppl after us!? HA!! Oh and our waitress... seemed ok at first, but then started giving eye rolls and snarky attitude for no reason!! Whatever we asked of she just didn't care to listen and gave no eye contact. Was ignored the rest of the time and didn't get water refills! We were getting uncomfortable from thirst that we had to leave. And then the waitress finally appears to give water... and still gave awkward, rude, attitude when I asked to see the check!! She didn't even hand it to me to begin with I had to ask!!!! The food? It was just ok... the only good thing was the margaritas. Oh! And the ONE young employee that served us our food? Nicest young man there. I wish he was our waiter! He knew how to talk and ask us if we needed anything and he did just that. Short curly hair. Give him a bonus and have him teach respect and manners to the other staff!!! And one last thing... WHY DOES THIS PLACE SMELL SO BAD!? It always smells like a dirty bathroom! Super hard to enjoy a meal with that...
