This PetSmart is absolutely amazing and the staff and the customers are what make it the most compassionate and helpful place I've been!
I had spent my morning digging through bushes and Thorns looking for the source of a constant meowing. It was getting faint and less frequent since she had been meowing for at least 30. When I finally found a tiny, filthy, very alone, very dehydrated, very weak, covered in fleas, broken tailed black kitten with her eyes still closed. I didn't have anything to help her so I grabbed my keys jumped in my car and took off for the Humane Society right by my house but they were closed so I went immediately to PetSmart. I myself at this point it was filthy and covered in branches and dirt and leaves and had not grabbed my purse when I left and so I walked in with just a kitten and very desperately needing some help with saving her life. The little kitten was still protesting very loudly at her hunger and got a lot of attention from the employees and customers and I was so grateful to them because to my surprise one of the employees bought her the bottle and nipples I needed to be able to feed her and two customers that heard my story and heard her meowing like crazy bought her the milk substitute and they help me and we saved her life. After a few days of taking care of her a friend had a friend they had a rescue and they were willing to take care of her and get her medical stuff done and rehabilitate her. With her broken tail fixed and probably a hundred feedings she is happy and healthy. She is running around and playing, well socialized, beautiful perfectly black with bright green eyes young cat with her own family. I just want to say thank you to the employee and to the customers at PetSmart that day . It's like it said in Deadpool it's only once or twice in a lifetime you actually get an opportunity to be a hero and I was grateful to them because they allowed me to successfully be a hero and save the life of a helpless and Priceless life. That day I was feeling a little overwhelmed and a little helpless myself so thanks for being heros znd...
Read moreI made an appointment to have my newly acquired cat's claws trimmed. This would be our first visit to the groomers. Our appointment was for 9:30 am, which was 30 minutes before store opening. There were 3 other customers there with their dogs for the Salon. The employee that had to let me in, was fairly curt, obviously annoyed that we were there. She informed me that I should probably wait outside since there were 3 dogs in the store, which I eventually did, only because she seemed annoyed we were there at all. None of the groomers arrived until almost 9:30, which was slightly annoying. I went to the counter and mentioned my appointment for my cat. After a couple questions, that I had already answered when making the appointment, she asked me about her rabies shot. I told her I couldn't remember if she had gotten one when I took her to the Vet. She said that any animal needed one to use their grooming salon. I told her that it should have been mentioned when I made my appointment since the appointment taker knew my cat had never been to the salon before. My Vet office was closed, Jan. 1st, so we couldn't call. She did mention that I could go home and make sure, then come back as a walk-in. She was helpful and nice, but my advice is, that the appointment taker should make it a habit to mention the rabies shot. Especially if a customer hasn't used their salon before. Also, a couple of chairs in the waiting area...
Read moreI got my leopard gecko from this PetSmart about 2 months ago or so now. I made it very clear I had never had a leopard gecko before and asked the proper care for the gecko. what they gave me was a leopard gecko care kit that came with a tank and a few other things that they said would be all the gecko would need. well fast forward to now my gecko will not eat, she barely moves, isn't active and hardly out and about in her tank. I understand she is nocturnal however she doesn't even come out at night anymore. PetSmart is not knowledgeable about their animals or especially about their reptiles. Upon researching more about the gecko, which yes I should have done that in the first place before asking PetSmart but I trusted them I just assumed they would know about the products they're selling and the animals that they care for and sell, but after researching I found out that everything they told me about how to care for my gecko was wrong. Now I have to buy a completely new set up, lights and everything. And the new light that I just got from them about two weeks ago, which I got thinking maybe it was her light source that was affecting her, already went OUT. I highly recommend that if you are going to get any kind of animal or reptile from here you do your own research before hand and ask EXPERIENCED reptile handlers. All PetSmart wants to do is sell you products, not help you understand...
