Whiskey River — Restaurant in Nampa

Haven't spent much time at all there. Just a couple of drinks after taking care of some stuff while in Nampa. Seems like a nice local dive bar. Well, been there a couple more times over the years since. Ate there, too. But each time, the food got worse. Stopped in again on 1/12/24. We tried to order chicken wings on an early Friday evening. They're out!??. So I ordered fingersteaks, wife ordered nachos. My order arrived, and was over cooked with bad dark overused fry oil.i ate 3 pcs of steak and a couple tots, then shoved the plate away. Wife's nachos looked like something spooned out of a garbage pail poured on top of chips. No salsa given. She ate about 3-4 bites and quit too. Bartender took our orders away and never said a word or asked if anything was wrong. I ended up with severe heartburn all night and a minor case of diarrhea in the morning. That was one of the most disgusting food orders I've ever been served. In fact, I'm seriously debating calling the health department Monday. Like the bar itself, and they serve a fair drink. But we will never go there again. And if you do, enjoy your cocktails but don't dare order food, if that's what they call it. They really need to shut the kitchen down until they can find management that cares and cooks...

Friends and I were out Sunday night to celebrate Labor day, and we stoped in because we thought the place looked like a fun place and we wanted to play some darts. I went to the bar to get a drink and the bartender completely ignored me. I had my card in my hand while I waited. He took everyone’s order in our group except mine. He skipped over me and took drink orders from people that came in after me. I thought to myself “maybe he’s just super busy. I understand.” But then noticed he continued taking drink orders from everyone at the bar except me. And I noticed he looked at my hand with my card and STILL ignored me. It felt so uncomfortable. I decided to wait outside the bar for my friends to finish their drink since they had already paid for it. As soon as they finished them we left. We didn’t even play the dart game we had already payed for. I felt so uncomfortable being in there I chose to wait on the sidewalk for my friends rather than to sit in there. It was so embarrassing and...

It's an interesting bar. Has cool fun hip but also a rough and tough vibe. They have a variety of events they host. Pool, darts, good music, karaoke. The bar does make some decent food. Drinks are fairly priced. The thing to keep in mind is that the more melanin you have, the less quality and speed of service you will most likely receive. Not all of the staff are like that. Some are really great and personable and treat you no differently. But a few are. They will service everyone(sometimes twice) and tend to the bar or literally anything else before they address or approach you. In some instances, they will wait until you speak loudly or repeatedly enough or motion for their attention, but not before throwing shade, glares, or making occasional comments.

Beyond that, it's a pretty chill place to hang out at and worth a visit if you're looking to have a fun night out...
