DISCRIMINATION ALERT - My mom and I were visiting town and happened to visit this place as it was recommended to us by the concierge at Meritage Hotel ( Vino Bello ) my mom and aunt don’t speak english and it was hard to navigate with them to places some of the staff indeed speak Spanish, we were asked if we had a reservation but we did not have one, the place was not packed but they insisted to get inside we have to wait a hour and 15 minutes so they say they could accommodate us outside of the restaurant when there was plenty of empty tables inside and lots of staff just standing there without any assignments. We waited outside but the sun was too harsh so we insisted if there was a table inside they said there’s no table available. So one of the staff said: yes we do have a table for you, come come THIS WAY waving her hands at us in a very derogatory and humiliating way like if we were part of the staff or dogs, she walked us through the hallway by the kitchen we were confused as where exactly she was bringing us despite being there plenty of tables open and unoccupied that they could place us. They brought us upstairs excluded from everyone like if we must be put away from everyone to a table that looked like the staff fold their napkins and do meetings, we immediately stand up and left with a very sour experience and surprise as how classist this restaurant was, more of a humiliation we felt discriminated they made very clear we didn’t...
Read moreThis was an outstanding Italian restaurant experience! We came for my wife’s bday trip and they actually hand wrote her a card, which they gave her upon being seated. The place was packed, but since we had reservations, we didn’t have to wait at all, even though we overheard the wait times for walk-ins being about an hour.
Service was excellent from out server. The menu was very interesting and unique, which items like handkerchief pasta and a special of the night which was a cored full, large onion with the core being made into a sauce and spaghetti pouring out of the center of the onion. Though we didn’t get this, we saw it come out and it looked amazing!
But their pizzas looked outstanding, so we decided to get a margherita pizza and their handkerchief pasta to split. We also tried their bread, which you have to order and they charge for, but it’s worth the price – they make it fresh to order in their pizza oven and it was outstanding!
The pizza’s crust was OUTSTANDING!! The toppings and sauce we very nice too, but that dough/crust is what really made it great! The handkerchief pasta was incredible and something neither of us had previously experienced! The pasta was thin and folded over many times and incorporated into their pesto sauce, which was vibrant and flavorful – The entire dish was so very good together!
Highly recommend stopping in… there’s a reason this place is...
Read moreHeadline: Great food, but poor and inattentive service ruined the experience This was our second time dining here, and unfortunately, it was a disappointment. We had such a good time a year ago, but this visit was marred by the service we received. While the food is still amazing—the pizza was great, and the pasta was fresh and authentic—the unacceptable service ruined our evening.
Those issues included: When we asked about any nightly specials, our waiter flatly stated, "nothing special, everything is on the menu." However, we overheard a different server tell a nearby table about several specials that sounded delicious. This was frustrating and made us feel like a second-class customer. Throughout our four-course meal, our finished plates were never cleared or replaced. The waiter only cleared the table after we had finished all our courses, leaving dirty dishes to pile up. The server's lack of attention was consistently apparent. He cleared the table next to us multiple times but ignored a finished dish on our table from the beginning of our meal until the very end. The food coming from the kitchen is clearly excellent, and we were very happy with the quality. It's a shame that the front-of-house service does not match the kitchen's standards. We hope management will address these training issues, as we'd love to come back and have the experience we remember from our...
