Ivey Cake — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

So, after we ate lunch next door, at the Franklin Mecantile Deli, I decided to take the plunge and get dessert here. Even though I was the only one of us who did. I walked into this tiny little 'blink and you miss it, hole in the wall' shop and my eyes were in visual heaven with the vast array of beautiful cupcakes. The girl working was finishing taking a catering order and that gave me time to peruse the confections and make a decision. The girl wasn't really the friendliest, as I asked questions about which was which, since nothing was labeled. She answered my questions, but seemed irritated I was asking. I even felt I had to mention it was my first time in the shop, because I think she just thought I should know how things go there. Nonetheless, the cupcakes should have labels, so you can make a decision and not have to ask 'what is that one again?' all the time. So I made a decision when I found out there were mini replicas of all the cupcakes. Since I didn't know if they were good yet, I got a few to try. I got the BFF (for the kids to split)(Cookies and Cream), Gold Digger (for Moi) (Peanut Butter Chip), I Do (for my husband) (Vanilla on Vanilla), and a Troublemaker (again, for Moi, the cake lover extraordinaire, LOL) (Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough). When I returned to the family, and told them there were mini's everyone wanted one. So my mom went and got herself a mini as well. The kids scarfed theirs down in record time, so I would suffice that to say that one was good, hahaha. I cut mine in half and tried both, wow! They were so good! Just a rant ... on Oct 12th 2019 I married the love of my life.. we decided to go with Ivey cake for our cake maker . In February of 2019 we paid IN FULL the $676.06 in CASH . Later that year in April they contacted us stating they didn’t have the address to the venue 🤔 & we would be charged a delivery fee of $200 . Of course we were upset and a little confused bc Jorden and I gave her that information . (We should have cancelled then ) fast forward to oct 12 ,2019 .. yes they were on time but the cake was wrong ! As you can see in our signed contract that we paid for super in advance that the cake was to be 3 tiers , the top white , middle lace & bottom wine red . Instead we got an all white cake with what looks like explosive diarrhea covering it . Shortly into the ceremony the cake starting falling apart ! We contacted Ivey cake and I was reassured I would be refunded all my money back . Their owners words : “ we would be refunding you all of your money back “ . We have received a check for $616.00 and the $200 will be refunded in 3-5 business days to the card which it was taken from . However the taxes of $60.06 have yet to be refunded . In fact she told me not to call back and to contact her attorney because she wouldn’t refund this . * $60.06 is not a big deal but what IS A BIG DEAL is when you tell the bride and groom on there big day that you will “be refunding you all of your money back “ because your company failed to follow our signed contract and deliver the correct cake and then turn around and say you aren’t going to is a BIG DEAL* I will definitely be posting this on every review I can and exposing you and your company for your lack of...

As a long-time Brentwood resident, I've wanted to try IveyCake ever since they relocated from Franklin in 2017! As luck would have it, we celebrated my mother-in-law's 80th birthday with a towering custom cake from IveyCake.

And let me tell you. Owner Ivey Childers makes a mean cake! They are literally works of art made by a creative decorator who demands perfection and uses the finest ingredients. The cake is very dense, what our family considers to be the ultimate texture for a cake. The frosting is super thick and very sweet. You can't eat too much at one time, which is probably a good thing.

We had hoped for some sort of confirmation email to let us know the cake was finished. So we showed up on faith alone hoping the cake was ready for our celebration, and there it was! Whew!
