I had problems getting my digital key online. Then, there was construction noise… VERY LOUD construction noise the ENTIRE weekend until after 5pm. I heard it after checking in on Friday and I woke up on Saturday afternoon to what sounded like machine guns. I was told that there shouldn’t be any construction on the weekend and surprise, I wake up to more construction on SUNDAY coming from another room on another floor. I called the lobby and the concierge named Johnathan answered. I explained to him that I was told by management that there was not supposed to be construction on the weekend and that I was trying to sleep. His response was that they are under contract until 4 and that I would have to deal with it for at least another half hour. I reiterated that I was trying to sleep and then he felt the need to tell me it was 3:30pm as if I needed to give him an explanation as to why or how I would want to sleep at 3:30pm. He then lied to me when I asked to speak to a manager by saying they were too busy and with a lot of customers. I went downstairs immediately and found the manager in a quiet lobby at the desk alone and it wasn’t even a full minute later. His bad attitude was enough to ruin the entire trip for me.
The location of the hotel isn’t bad, but it isn’t exactly close to Broadway either. Its about about a half mile or a 10-15 minute walk to Broadway and all of the action. Definitely something to consider if you’re walking because you would be walking uphill to return to the hotel no matter which direction you’re coming from. There’s no self parking and an additional $55 valet charge if you bring a vehicle. Most of downtown is blocked off so it isn’t really advisable to bring your automobile if your plan is to stay downtown. You’d be better off walking because there’s little street parking and some streets will close. My friends on another floor had a broken AC the first night and were given floor fans. It was quickly fixed. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable. It is a pet friendly hotel and the rooms are not designated. I did have to take allergy medication as a result but not a big deal. I definitely will not be going back because $250 a night is a lot to pay and not be able to sleep from such loud noise or have to put up with such a nasty attitude the concierge had. I saw him scold some young ladies about making too much noise while they were giggling and laughing to the elevators. I do want to mention that the afternoon manager on duty was very nice and tried to be helpful. The construction was beyond his control and he was coming onto shift in the afternoon long after it had been going on. There needs to be better communication from the construction crew to management and it should be noted in the website so that customers aren’t surprised and forced to put up with noise they...
Read moreTitle:A Almost Great Experience at DoubleTree Hotel Downtown Nashville
I recently stayed at the DoubleTree Hotel Downtown Nashville on the 13th and 14th of May, coinciding with my birthday. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to fully enjoy my stay and had minimal interaction with the hotel's amenities beyond using the room for sleeping and taking a shower. However, my brief experience was marred by an unfortunate incident involving the hotel's customer service and an unjustified charge of $400 for alleged smoking and damages.
To begin with, I must commend the initial customer service provided by the staff at the hotel. They were attentive, helpful, and created a welcoming atmosphere upon my arrival. However, the following day, I was shocked to discover that I had been charged a substantial amount for smoking and damages. This accusation was perplexing to me for two reasons: firstly, I am a non-smoker due to severe asthma, and secondly, I spent only around three hours in the room during my stay.
Eager to address this issue and resolve the misunderstanding, I immediately contacted the hotel's front desk. Unfortunately, my attempt to resolve the problem was met with disappointment and frustration. The individual I spoke with initially promised to connect me with a manager but instead left me on hold for an extended period. After patiently waiting for an extended duration, I was ultimately forced to hang up and call again. Astonishingly, the subsequent call was abruptly terminated by the hotel staff, leaving me feeling ignored and disregarded.
Regrettably, my efforts to rectify the situation proved fruitless as the customer service representatives I encountered displayed an utter lack of professionalism and empathy. It is disheartening when an establishment that initially provides a positive impression fails to uphold its standards when faced with a customer concern. The indifference and rudeness exhibited by the hotel staff only served to exacerbate my disappointment and solidify my negative experience.
This review serves as both an account of my unfortunate encounter with DoubleTree Hotel Downtown Nashville and a cautionary tale for potential guests. While I acknowledge that every establishment can have its flaws and misunderstandings, the lack of willingness to address my concerns and the poor treatment I received from the hotel's representatives overshadowed any positive aspects of my stay.
In conclusion, my stay at the DoubleTree Hotel Downtown Nashville was marred by a distressing incident involving unwarranted charges and the subsequent unsatisfactory customer service experience. I hope that by sharing my review, the hotel management can address the issues I encountered and work towards improving their customer...
Read moreI have stayed at many of the Double Tree locations around the country. I have also been a loyal Hilton Honors member for years, usually staying between Gold and Silver. It's depends on how much I travel each year. With that said, I took my wife to Nashville for her first visit ever. Naturally, I booked the Double Tree due to my prior experiences. I was willing to pay for more, but I expected the typical Doubletree experience. It was $348 a night for 3 nights. Not including the $55/day parking and the $40/ day breakfast or the 7 dollar bottle of water. It could not have been further from the truth. We arrived, and the lobby seemed well kept as we excitedly awaited our room. As we took the elevator up, we noticed the elevator seemed to make lots of noise. As the door opened and we walked to our rooms, the halls were very dimly lit. The walls were full of gashes and marks. The doors had chips out of the paint, and the carpet looked very old. The smell was musty like there had been water on the carpet prior and allowed to mold. Once in the room, things got a little better. It's was okay but for the price everything was old dated. The room was super small, much different than my prior rooms at other Hiltons Double Trees. The next morning, we hit the breakfast buffet not included in the price and was an additional $20 per person. When we got to breakfast, I was shocked. I have had better breakfast at much lesser hotels. It was basic scrambled overcooked eggs bacon, biscuits, some sauce that loosely resembled gravy, and some dried out fruit. You gotta be kidding. The windows have not been washed, and the sunlight was tattered and tattered. With all the dirt, very little light came through. The only thing going for this hotel was the location, which I will say is amazing. It's about a 10-minute walk to Broadway.
My final opinion is that this Double Tree is in serious need of a remake. Hilton needs to know as this is a true disgrace to their name. I'll never be back to this location. Overall trip for three days with Hotel, parking, breakfast and water was over $1400 and there are so many options for that price. I also read other reviews, and it seems that I am not alone in this review. Not a 3 star hotel should be downgraded to 2 stars and prices cut in half. Pictures were added at the bottom of this review. Contacting Hilton Corporate when we return home as they have to know this is ruining a...
