Sump is my all-time favorite coffee shop, hands down. Between FANTASTIC coffee, friendly faces, and amazing atmosphere, this place hits all the marks. Every single person on staff is remarkably welcoming and are constantly looking to make every customer’s experience as good as it possibly can be. I have been here enough over the past couple of months to become “a regular,” alongside many other folks that I see and hear come in on a daily basis. I see the look of excitement every time the staff sees a regular - a big smile, a bellowing “what up!” or some gesture built into the relationship between the staff member(s) and the regular. Each staff member has their own unique way of expressing their gratitude to their customers (often turned into friends, if they see you enough!) and it is quite refreshing to see and experience firsthand. I can guarantee that if you come into this shop, you will have a memorable experience filled with warm welcomes and delicious coffee.
My visits here have never been short of perfect. I hope anyone looking to find their new favorite coffee shop stumbles upon this treasure and will share the same...
Read moreThere are all kinds of coffee shops in Nashville, and there are plenty that are enough that make a point to show how serious they are coffee. This is very difficult to pull of and not look like a bunch of self-important hipsters. Thankfully, Sump is not either of those. Baristas are intelligent enough to talk coffee and make really good coffee without being so full of themselves that you don't want to know about it. My only issues are the awkward location and the price, which was a little high. Still solid four star coffee place. If you're a coffee guy, and you know if you are, then this is definitely a cool place...
Read moreWent there today around 11. The coffee was great but the service was absolutely horrible. There were three people working. The two behind the counter Never greeted me at all and was talking about drinking and throwing up and partying. Then the blonde guy was eating a sandwich behind the counter and right next to the espresso machine and actually flipped off a customer or whoever it was that walked in that they knew Very unprofessional Not very appealing at all to be honest. I was never asked how it was or if I needed anything at all. They were super rude. I have to say the guy working in the back that was taking the trash out was super nice and very cordial. He should be working the front counter for sure. I am from Another state and drove a few hours to. Checkout sump. Wow was I...
