Eating clean while on vacation can be a challenge. Thank you, True Food Kitchen, for your amazing offerings. True Food Kitchen offers an extraordinary dining experience that seamlessly blends culinary excellence with a commitment to health and sustainability. Located in the heart of Nashville, this restaurant is a haven for those who appreciate the power of whole, real food. Looking for a vegetarian-friendly, gluten-free, whole ingredients kitchen? Look no further! True Food Kitchen is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary philosophy brought to life. Every dish is crafted with ingredients that meet the TRUE standards, sourced from dedicated growers, ranchers, and producers. This meticulous selection process ensures that every meal not only tastes incredible but also contributes to the well-being of diners and the planet. The menu at True Food Kitchen is a testament to the belief that delicious food can also be nutritious. Grounded in the anti-inflammatory food pyramid developed by founder Dr. Andrew Weil, a renowned integrative medicine expert, each dish is designed to nourish the body without sacrificing flavor. From vibrant salads to hearty entrees, every bite is a harmonious blend of taste and health benefits. Our visit to True Food Kitchen in Nashville was nothing short of spectacular. The atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant, a perfect reflection of the restaurant's philosophy. It was great to see the open kitchen, where we had a chance to see firsthand the fresh ingredients being transformed into exquisite dishes! We started with the edamame dumplings, which were delicate and bursting with flavor. The charred cauliflower, paired with harissa tahini, mint, and pistachio, was a delightful combination of textures and tastes. For the main course, the ancient grains bowl stood out, featuring miso-glazed sweet potatoes, turmeric, charred onion, snow peas, and avocado with hemp seeds. Each component was cooked to perfection and seasoned thoughtfully. The spaghetti squash casserole, a comforting blend of organic tomato and zucchini, was both hearty and wholesome. True Food Kitchen also excels in its beverage offerings. The antioxidant-rich "Medicine Man" juice, a blend of sea buckthorn, pomegranate, cranberry, and black tea, was refreshing and invigorating. The "Hangover RX," with its coconut water, pineapple, vanilla, and orange juice, provided a perfect balance of flavors and was a delightful companion to our meal. True Food Kitchen is more than a restaurant; it's a celebration of food that works for you, nourishing the body and delighting the senses. Whether you're looking for a healthful meal that doesn't compromise on flavor or a dining experience that prioritizes sustainability, True Food Kitchen is the place to be. If you're in Nashville, make sure to visit this culinary gem and enjoy a meal that's as good for you as it is delicious.

Party of three for an early lunch. We arrived at 11am and asked for a window seat, we were seated right away. Staff were friendly and service was average. We started with the roasted Brussels sprouts and two of us tried the seasonal butternut squash soup. The Brussel sprouts were fresh and cooked well but they were very salty and the glaze wasn’t what we expected, garlicky and savory. The butternut squash soup was good, probably the favorite dish of the group, described as “pumpkin pie soup” and “tastes like Christmas” perhaps with hints of nutmeg, though it did have a savory base. I got the spaghetti squash casserole. Sometimes spaghetti squash is prepared more like spaghetti, but this dish is was prepared much more like a standard squash. The squash seemed a bit underdone and crunchy, and the dish was lacking salt. Overall, I enjoyed it and would eat it again, but it wasn’t anything special. The rest of our group got the seasonal market salad with grass fed steak and the Korean noodle bowl with steak, medium. The steak was cooked correctly and tender. The salad had a great apple cider vinegar dressing, but way too much of it, and was a good portion. The Korean noodles were a bit too salty and saucy, muting the other flavors, and were NOT sweet like most Korean food. It would have benefited from a cold slaw on top to balance the flavor. Overall, everything was very fresh and high quality, we enjoyed no seed oils or artificial ingredients but the flavors weren’t impressive. Definitely get sauce or dressing on the side. The atmosphere was great, colorful and bright. Bathrooms were clean. Might try again, we’ll have to see.

The ambiance was friendly, bright and clean. However the service was slow and very disjointed and they weren't even busy. For starters we received our drinks and appetizer before we even got our water, even after we asked. The worst part was the appetizer. They tout themselves on being able to accommodate dietary restrictions, so we ordered the edamame guacamole with gluten free pita. A different server brought it out and I tried to verify...it was NOT gluten free (glad I asked). And she proceeded to leave the plate there and say "I'll let your server know and she can deal with it!" WHAT? When our server finally came back (still no water) she said it was put in half and half and the gluten free half was coming. 1) we didn't ask for half and half and 2) no one specified and it could have led to a very uncomfortable situation had I eaten what I assumed was the gluten free option I'd ordered. No apologies. Finally lunch...very uninspired warmed flavorless cocktail shrimp topped my Mediterranean salad for an extra $8. Try a little seasoning or a grill for some sear. Anyway, for a near $100 lunch I would say pass! Update and amended to say the owner reached out personally to assure customer satisfaction and retraining of recently hired staff to ensure safety. Much appreciated.

Came here at my 9y/o request to celebrate her birthday. We came in the afternoon, there was a 20min wait. When we got to the table it was soaking wet, the hostess used a napkin to dry a few spots, the silverware and napkins were set down on the wet table, so those were wet. I asked her if she could fully dry the table, she would not fully dry it, but did use the same napkin to push more water around. There was a puddle where my 1 child was sitting. I used our napkins on the table to try and absorb as much water as I could. I placed drink orders with the waitress, they came out separately-1 was a coffee, 3 juice type beverages for the kids, 1 spicy pineapple margarita. I have previously had the spicy pineapple margarita and its hit or miss on the spice. It was very spicy this time but had no flavor of alcohol, and I caught no buzz. I do not typically drink, less than 3x/month. I normally can catch a buzz off of ½ shot of tequila. This drink did not taste or feel like it had any alcohol in it. It was $16.50 for an unintentional virgin margarita. When we placed our food orders with the waitress, I made it clear that I wanted the charred cauliflower without pistachios as my kids have nut allergies, and these were entrees for 2 of my kids. My daughter specifically came here for her birthday because she wanted the cauliflower as a meal. The waitress did not repeat back any of our order, there were 5 of us. When our food arrived it came out separately, first my husband and son’s food arrived, then mine, then 2 charred cauliflowers covered in pistachios. I waited for the waitress to come back after the food was dropped off and explained the cauliflower both came with nuts even though I had said no nuts. She took both dishes and re-ordered them. It took another 20 min give or take for the dishes to come back out, at this point everyone else had eaten. I shared my plate with my 2 kids who didn’t have food. The cauliflower then came out from the manager. I asked if he was a manager and he said yes. I complained that it was concerning the waitress didn’t repeat back the order and could potentially have killed someone by serving them nuts after they explain there is an allergy. He didn’t seem to care, nor did her offer an apology. My daughter then asked if her potatoes were ever coming. I waited for the waitress to come back again and asked about the potatoes, she said she never ordered them because she didn’t hear me. She then placed the order for the potatoes. Had she repeated back the order maybe all of this could’ve been prevented, maybe not. There were small fruit flies flying around the table the entire time that I kept batting away. Years ago, the service was much better, the service and management now are very poor. I would not recommend anyone to eat here if you have food allergies. Management and staff made it clear they do not care about the safety of those dining there. There are far better and safer options in Nashville. It’s...

Service: we had early Saturday night reservations, walked in and were seating immediately. Hostesses were great. Service was great and there was the option to scan a QR code and be a bit more independent. Our server Sam was super great, very personable, attentive and kind and took a great photo of our mini reunion :). Knew a lot about the menu and had great recommendations.

Atmosphere: The restaurant itself is super cute, very spacious, and felt clean and open and fun. It is the right balance of casual but not sloppy—you could definitely dress up a smidge and wouldn’t feel silly, but we were a jeans and sweaters group and it seemed most others were of a similar vibe. We were a 3 person girl group but a date night would be great here and there was at least one person there dining alone. There’s bar seating, indoor seating (booths and chairs) and a TON of outdoor seating.

Food: (from menu March 2023 & non-rotating menu) we ordered the edamame dumpling, charred cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and hummus for starters. Each one was incredible. The cauliflower and hummus might be tied as my favorites!! I would order every single one again. The dumplings could easily be a light meal for one. I ordered no entree, but my friends got kale salads (one with chicken, one with no protein/no dairy/different dressing). Not going to lie, those did look a little boring to me, hah. My friends also got a specialty non-alcoholic drink each that they drank every sip of! They looked and sounded delicious. My friends also loved the squash pie.

Pricing: it’s expensive. No getting around that. But it’s obviously for a reason—the quality and health standards are top notch. You can check the menu online beforehand so there are no $ surprises. Definitely not a place I can personally afford to go every week, but that’s just my own budget at this phase of my life.

Overall: loved coming here and can’t believe I waited so long. We loved all our food and left feeling full but not greasy or bloated like other restaurants. I will absolutely come back and...
