Charleys Cheesesteaks — Restaurant in National City

Love this place. Love my cheesesteaks. Absolutely hated the customer service this visit from an unhappy cashier. She rudely stated that they didn't open until 11am, mind you I was only standing in line at 1059. Then I asked her about redeeming my rewards points, said she couldn't do it. Couldn't or wouldn't be bothered? Good rule of thumb when working fast food, you must also provide good customer service. It's clear she did NOT want to be at work today. What a shame considering people need to be happy if they have a job during these times.

I wanted to update my review, because its very important to share when business owners acknowledge when you've provided negative feedback regarding a service or quality of food or a product.  After I posted my review, the owner Yunis, reached out to me right away.  She apologized for my experience and assured me that it was not ok, and would make every attempt to make things right.  On Friday, I took her up on the offer.  I called in to place an order, the manager Marcelino was very friendly and accommodated my order replacement with an upgrade.  This made me so happy, and the sandwich and fries were incredible.  Thanks so much to Yunis and Marcelino for redeeming my feelings towards their business.  I'll be sure to visit again. ...

This Review is for Plaza Bonita Charley's only....

There aren't many cheesesteak places in the area so Charley's is probably the best by default. The Cheesesteak are very good. Better than Jersey Mikes.

The only thing stopping this from being a Great Cheesesteak is the Bread. If you don't eat the cheesesteak immediately and let it sit for a for a few minutes the bread tends to get very soggy which can ruin the cheesesteak experience.

I highly recommend eating this thing immediately off the grill if possible before the sog kicks in.

I usually order the chicken Philly special with fries for only $8 ( one of the best deals at Plaza Bonita) or a regular Philly. Provolone is definitely the best cheese to eat with your Philly. Their cheese Wiz Philly is not as good.

If they can ever get their bread right this can go from very Good to Great.

Absolutely terrible experience. I placed an order through Uber Eats that was quoted at 23 minutes, only for the time to suddenly jump to 47 minutes after the restaurant accepted it. At that point, I canceled because the order terms had changed — but I was still charged.

This is a classic bait-and-switch setup: the restaurant accepts quickly to lock in the order, then preparation times and delivery windows balloon with no accountability. Customers are left paying cancellation fees for delays that aren’t their fault.

Whether it’s mismanagement or partnership with a predatory platform, Charley’s Cheesesteaks & Wings failed to respect my time, my money, and basic fairness. I won’t be ordering from here again, and I suggest others think twice before trusting them...
