We walked a good bit to revisit this establishment while in the area. (Last year in Nevada, it was great so we were at Ketchup twice.) The service was HORRIBLE. Good food+ horrible staff always=HORRIBLE. The bartender never communicated that he'd be with us. He walks next to us and acts as if he didn't notice us until I said something. Then he says something. He then slowly, I do mean SLOWLY, walks over to get orange soda from the drink dispenser, comes back, and assists. I tell him that we're not too friendly and he reversed the statement and asked why. I wasn't going to argue so I said nothing. Honestly, it is not about being "friendly". Wrong choice word. He, around age 40, needs to be taught customer service skills along with the snappy short lady serving the food. She said she'd be back with my fries. She brought one but not the regular fries. I went to her after about 10 min. I asked for her attention 3 times. She says she did give me fries. With the receipt in hand, I told her that it should be two. With a negative tone, she says, "I just give the food. You need to go to the him [the cashier]". I told her I paid for it and just need for her to give it. She speaks in another language and then asks the female cook to give her fries. Now to mention the nice young male cashier, who seems to be the best employee there but improperly trained due to the fact of not being able to prioritize, I gave him until the time we finished our food to bring milkshakes that we once reminded him of. I looked around and thought: am I the only one having a bad experience here and BAM.?! As he brings my shakes, a lady asks for his attention and says "Is she going to get her milkshake?" He says something and she says "No. She ordered a milkshake." He hurriedly hands me my shakes but forgets straws, goes back to get my straws, and attends to the two women who were eating. After all this, from trying to get our food issue handled, two of our meals were cold and the other person just threw...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreKetchup was a pleasant surprise. It's open late (until 2 AM), even when the rest of the shops and restaurants are closed. If you're looking for a substantial meal after hours, this place is excellent. They have a simple menu that doesn't overcomplicate burgers, and something like 5 varieties of flavored ketchup (BBQ, sriracha, jalapeno, garlic, etc.) which is where they get the name, I guess. They have milkshakes, including "spiked milkshakes" with liquor. There is probably about 5 varieties of burger, 5 spiked milkshakes, and 5 sides (onion rings, tots, fries, rtc.). Again, not over complicated. We went twice and on the first trip I got the classic burger. It was a substantial patty, much bigger than the typical burger joint. They even cooked it medium-rare at my request. I had the fries and a soda since the shake machine was off/broken. The next night, I went back and got the burger of the month, the California burger, which is pretty much an attempt to recreate In N Out burgers. It did not disappoint. I also got the spiked Strawberry Shortcake shake, with strawberry, cake vodka, and whipped cream. Just the right amount of vodka and tasty to boot. The price is pretty affordable, especially when compared with the sky-high prices up and down the strip. Filling, delicious, fair price. I definitely recommend Ketchup. Oh, and by the way, they have a burger challenge where you can try to eat a big burger in under 20 minutes. So, if you're into food...

We bailed on Ramsey's burger place because the wait was insane at an hour +. Ketchup is on the other side of Planet Hollywood near the parking entrance. It's a smaller location with self serve/self seating with a focused menu on burgers, hotdogs and fries. They got some good milkshakes including some alcoholic ones. Ambiance is on the cafeteria side of things but everything moved quickly and the food came fast. They have a bunch of types of ketchup if that's your thing and a small bar for people that want a real drink. Reasonably kid friendly, with high chairs, etc and they have an off menu kids burger or hotdog. Burgers were very good. We had a high roller, with wagu beef, and the mozzarella mushroom, both were excellent and cooked as requested. Milkshakes are nice but limited options, about 6.
Prices are high because it's planet Hollywood and the strip but not as bad as Ramsey's. You're looking at 12 to less than 20 for a burger, 5 plus extra for a combo. Milkshakes are around 6 bucks. Unlimited refills on pop...at least I got unlimited refills.
Overall a solid option for anyone wanting a burger in quick time. It doesn't have the cred or atmosphere of Ramsey's place but if you just want the meal it is a...
