Located in Seafood City, I just found my new Halo Halo champion in Las Vegas...for those that don't know..
"Halo Halo is a popular Filipino cold dessert which is a concoction of crushed ice, evaporated milk and various ingredients including, among others, ube, sweetened beans, coconut strips, sago, gulaman (seaweed gelatin), pinipig rice, boiled root crops in cubes, fruit slices, flan, and topped with a scoop of ice cream." -wikipedia
The attendants were very pleasant and got our treats to us quickly. The Halo Halo at Magnolia has their system down as it's delish and refreshing af. All the ingredients are fresh and the proportions are on point. Sweet but not too sweet overall.
Magnolia makes some really creamy ice cream and totally reminds me of visits to the Philippines. The flavors are uniquely Filipino and my favorites are the classics: Macapuno, Ube and Queso Queso. That's right...CHEESE Ice cream. =)
If you've never had Halo Haloy before or you're a Halo Halo pro like myself, Magnolia is the place to be. If you're an ice cream person and are open to trying new flavors from the Philippines, stop by here and...

I drove into Las Vegas on a whim yesterday and first thing I was craving was some halo halo in the 100 degree weather that I was greeted with. Your friendly neighborhood Lola was working by herself and had quite a few customers so I waited a bit, but didnāt mind. The storefront was clean and all the items on their menu had all the ingredients listed so you knew what you were getting. I opted for the āMahalo-haloā regular size. During checkout, there was a bit of confusion with their register so I waited a few more minutes while cashier Lola went to get the young manager. I chose to sit at a small bar table that had a single bar chair (seating is very limited). The ube ice cream on top and the milk coated shaved ice with all the fixings on the bottom was just perfect. The only thing I wished the store still had was leche flan to add to the halo halo. Overall, the most legit and tasteful...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to try something completely different on my usual ice cream, milk shake, boba tea dessert run so I stumbled in this tiny shop inside Seafood city while shopping for fish! . this is not my first time eating halo-halo in fact I stopped looking for it because of my disappointing experiences. Until today! (Btw Halo-halo is a layered dessert consisting of sweetened beans, fruits, shaved ice drizzled with milk and syrup) This halo-halo stand caught my eye because it has different flavors. The Strawberry Halo-halo at first I wasn't expecting too much into it except its probably diabetic level of sweetness but lo' and behold! My eyes widen, my mouth gaped open in suprise and confusion! This is actually good goodness gracious I almost thought I was in college again kissing my ex ( she's a good kisser) . The strawberry goes perfectly well with the coconut strings, lychee, gelatin and boba it is surprisingly...
