On April 11, 2025, at precisely 8:40 in the morning, we visited the Red Ribbon bakery located at 3890 S Maryland Pkwy in Las Vegas, Nevada, to purchase a Classic Mocha Cake for a friend’s birthday celebration. Upon entering the store, I was pleasantly surprised to find it impeccably clean and well-organized. The shelves were stocked neatly, and the dining tables were spotless, which gave a positive first impression of the establishment.
However, my experience quickly took a turn due to the demeanor of two female store associates. Their expressions were noticeably unfriendly; they appeared to frown rather than greet customers warmly. It struck me as surprising, especially since customer service is usually a key focus in retail. We received no acknowledgment—no cheerful "hello," "good morning," or even a simple "thank you for visiting." This lack of hospitality left us feeling unwelcome as we navigated the store, and the associates maintained this unapproachable attitude throughout our visit.
As a Filipino, I understand that our culture is characterized by warmth, friendliness, and politeness towards others. It was disappointing to witness behavior that starkly contrasted with these values, particularly in a place that aims to embody them. This experience not only reflected poorly on the individual associates but also led me to question whether the management upholds the same standards of customer service as their staff. Overall, the encounter left a negative impression of what could have been a delightful shopping experience at Red Ribbon.

Observing a Filipina Manager displaying disrespect towards her team members when they asked about the available types of birthday cakes with "happy birthday" greetings written on them was a disheartening experience. The female manager abruptly intervened with a stern countenance, screaming at her employees in front of customers, which is an extremely wrong and unacceptable way to treat team members. Placing your employees in a humiliating situation is not the way to go. When I inquired the employees working that day about why the said female manager was rude and unprofessional, they both responded that it was due to her managerial position. However, regardless of one's title in the company, no one has the right to degrade or humiliate their employees in front of others, as it can harm their dignity as human beings. This female manager is not a good example to follow, as she has been intimidating her team members to do their job properly, which is not an...
Read moreWe went early today at red ribbon Maryland Parkway with my brother and best friend. We ordered a Caramel Yema Cake(round shape) and small slices of mango cake. We requested the attendant if she can write a dedication for mom’s birthday, she refused and informed me that they don't do a dedication on that kind of cake. My brother volunteered to write the dedication if she would let him use the writing material, the attendant informed us to ask the supervisor, which we did. Unfortunately, the woman supervisor this early morning, denied our simple request and refused to put dedication on the cake because it is not the large one ( only the medium size) and the worst she refused to let my brother to do the dedication using their material for writing. A simple favor like this should be granted. It was a very unfortunate event and very poor customer service we encountered on this red...
