First and foremost, I take full responsibility of the confusion that I made. However, I don't take nor do I appreciate the lack of professionalism from the cater/event manager Caitlyn. Forgive me if I'm spelling her name wrong.
I booked food through Moore's (catering) for my mom's Celebration of Life for 7/3/21, and I paid for everything on 4/12/21. My first encounter with Caitlyn wasn't pleasant at all and it took a lot for me to not tell her about her rude attitude and sarcastic comments. Anywho, the venue where I was going to have my mom's event canceled my reservation 2 days ago due staffing problems. I called Caitlyn to tell her where the new venue was going to be located. She stated that I had to pay an additional $300 dollars for the venue. This is the service fee that the owner has to pay to the venue. That put me in a bind, I told her to cancel it, and she put my check in the mail. This morning I called and ask if I could rebook because I found another venue. She said that I couldn't because there was a waiting list. Yet, it was how she said it. I said that's strange because a manager at the store (I called before her) said that it wasn't a waiting list. She got smart and stated that she was the event manager of 5 stores (ok and I manage 6 lab locations but I'm not rude). I then told her that I would speak with the owner. I said this because of how rude and sarcastic she has been to me from the start and during our call. The owner was extremely nice (spoke with him twice ) and explained how they were booked and due to short staff, they are stretched thin. He gave me the options of picking it up. I decided to go with a different venue due to Caitlyn's disrespectful attitude and the back and forth.
Again, the owner was amazing, straightforward, and he appreciates his customers. I take responsibility of the back and forth. However, I've had to deal with this young lady's attitude and sarcasm each time we've conversed (more than 6x). Last time I check, I was spending my money, in which; some of that was going in her pockets. I don't care how many stores you run and the fact that you're a manager. It is all about treating customers with respect. More importantly, every manager should know how to work under pressure. She acted like she didn't want to be bother each time we spoke.
If you are looking for a cater, you will not want to deal with her. I definitely won't be the last to complain about her disrespectful ways. Hopefully after she reads this review about herself, she will change...
Read moreCalling this place "barbeque" is a stretch. The only BBQ they have on the the menu is pulled pork which isn't immediately evident from the menu. I ordered a chicken and "BBQ" plate which consists of hush puppies, two sides, and the aforementioned chicken and pulled pork. The chicken was alright, nothing great but it's hard to mess up fried chicken. The pulled pork was alright too. A little dry but it had an interesting flavor. Everything else fell apart for me. The mashed potatoes were clearly instant potatoes which is fine, all fast food joints do that but in this case it was soupy and clearly not mixed well. It looked granular and disgusting. The potato salad was likewise soupy and barf inducing. The hush puppies were dry and bland. I had to go back up to the counter to get some BBQ sauce and it may be the worst sauce I've ever had. The vinegar was so overpowering that it was impossible to taste anything else. Either the batch was bad (it came as the last dregs of a dispenser I saw a worker laboriously trying to eke out) or it's simply bad sauce. Either way, I regretted coming to this establishment immediately and left to go grab some real food that didn't look at home in a prison or a...
Read moreMy recent experiences at Moore's BBQ on MLK have been disappointing. During my last two visits, there were issues with my orders. On my last visit, they forgot to include my BBQ Pork and Green Beans, requiring me to make a 10-mile round trip to pick them up. I strongly recommend checking your order before leaving the drive-thru to avoid any inconvenience.
Today, I decided to give them another chance. While all the items were present in the bags this time, I was disappointed with the portion sizes. I ordered a Large Mashed Potato and Gravy, but the amount of gravy provided was so minimal that it barely covered the dish. (See Attached Picture).
Furthermore, when I ordered the Flounder Plate, I was again disappointed to receive two thinly sliced pieces of fish that were not only curled up but also dry. Their thickness was comparable to that of a sliced pickle. I have attached pictures for reference.
In my observation, I have noticed a decline in the quality of service, value, and overall operational ethics at this particular Moore BBQ location.
Home town quality isn't just what it is used to...
