Panera Bread — Restaurant in New Bern

Highly disappointed today. I ordered $48.58 worth of items. I order online and drive 20 minutes to pick it up and then 20 minutes back. When I get home, I am distributing the food to the fam, and I realize that the sandwich from my pick two is missing. I got the soup but not the sandwich. I call to inform them, a gentleman picks up and I explain that my sandwich was missing. Then I hear him say to someone, this lady says her sandwich was missing, what should I tell her? Not sure who got on the phone after that, but I assume it was the manager. He sounded frustrated when he got on the phone. I explained that my sandwich was missing. No apology for the missing sandwich. Instead he says drop back in and we’ll remake the sandwich, insinuating that I was lying. I am not in the business of driving back and forth to Panera. I was looking forward to getting home and eating my soup and sandwich and now I have to make another round trip of 40 minutes or more. Just went to this Panera’s at 8:40 pm. We got a you pick 2 with a steak and cheddar sandwich and a cup of chicken noodle. With another chicken noodle on the side. We asked for a receipt and didn’t get one. Another person came and handed us the food and we got the receipt from them. We take a bite and there’s horse radish sauce and a heap on onions which I said no onions because they are too strong for me personally at Panera’s. I came back in and said can I please get a sandwich with no onions and they said no problem and this employee was super nice and offered me a dessert for coming back in through pouring rain. I heard the guy who took our order via drive thru go “can I get a receipt please!” Mocking us for asking for a receipt because we knew things were going to be messed up. I only go here for the soups. The sandwiches are not worth the money with all the extra sauces that don’t compliment the flavors. The soup was super salty and we got the bottom of the pot with all broth almost no noodles. I placed a large pickup order and received an automated message noting they were out of the Eggs. Before completing the order, I called the New Bern Panera to see if this was true. The manager said their delivery truck came in so they would definitely be able to complete the 8 breakfast sandwiches with the eggs. The order was over $100 in total. I brought the order back to the office for a meeting and there were no eggs on the sandwiches! The location is 20 minutes from the office, so we had to deal with it. There was no price adjustment or notification.

I will be sending a letter to their corporate and regional office requesting a refund for those items (over $50).
