Rheas Ice Cream- NBTX — Restaurant in New Braunfels

Upon arrival did not understand weather i was suppose to order inside the main shop or the smaller concession at the entry. I stood their trying to read the menu but the flavors were not of my liking. A female employee greeted us in the most ungraceful way. I attempted to further my dialogue with her by asking about the flavors. Her response was “ i don’t really like ice cream so i can’t recommend anything”. First of the ice cream shop is a brand that is defiently a new braunfels native and not a chain so i have no idea what the brand has to offer. I do Believe that even if a staff member is not fond of the items sold he or she should have knowledge of what the company offers and not give a look of i don’t want to be their and zero to no help. I asked for a sample but upon further inspection i did notice the no sample offered sign. I sadly did not attempt to try the ice cream due to the terrible customer service. I do hope this message reaches someone with authority in this establishment so that these problems can be solved. I would recommend a personality assessment and touching base with staff on day to day operations so that personal conflict “ if their is” does not affect the...

Their Hill Country Vanilla is as good as it gets. My old Texas ranchin fam has been making home made vanilla forever and I am a vanilla ice cream snob. Rich dairy flavor is the star of the show, as it should be. The vanilla is juuust a hint. Fat content is perfect. Density offers a creamy spoon pull yet it is dense and thick with little to no air whipped in. Not overly sweet at all. I have to give it a solid 10. Go try it as fast as u can. Now, the ice cream server was stoic and not enthused. I felt like I was bothering her. She simply grunted when it was her turn to offer any verbiage aaannnd did not thank me so it was a stretch to give 2 stars on service but you expect it most places. 2 nice scoops was just under $8.00 but like I said it is as good as it gets !! Burger staff next door were lively and friendly, burgers were great but just a tad pricey. New Braunfels... Noon-thirty...

Never been here before, but since it’s attached to Tin Top Burger Joint, we wanted to try it.

First off, walking around the corner inside the building they were making their own waffle cones and it smelled amazing! We got a couple of different flavors and they were great.

Salted Caramel with Pecan Praline 7/10 - it was a two scoop on the waffle cone. Both flavors were very good and the waffle cone was fantastic!

Banana Pudding 8/10 - this one was interesting as you could taste both the banana and the Nilla Wafer. Not too overpowering, but was just good. You could tell from all the ice creams they were probably homemade and organic.

Waffle Cones 9/10 - homemade and legit!

Atmosphere 8/10 - nothing fancy, but has the feel of a retro old school ice cream shop. Very clean and nostalgic.

Service 9/10 - our server was great!

Overall 8/10 - definitely recommend checking...
