True Texas BBQ — Restaurant in New Braunfels

Terrible service at this location, the True Texas BBQ app charged me twice (25$ x2) and they want you to jump threw hoops in order to get a refund….if that wasn’t enough, when you order from the app they charge you for items they don’t even have (chips/drinks) - just a thought but you should prob remove items you don’t have instead of charging people for it…. Might help….and then their always “out” of potato’s….. it’s good BBQ, kind of over peppered though but I don’t think this location really cares cause I see others have complained and left reviews about that so I don’t see them changing anything…. All in all I’d say your better off going to another BBQ place, but that would probably be doing this place a favor since the manager who works here obviously can’t deal with the demand and when you have a complaint he just tries to over talk you and instead of dealing with the issue just tries to quickly tell you there’s “nothing he can do about it”.…. Personally I won’t ever order from this...

BBQ is on point. World class brisket. Slaw needs more zest, zing, something--it's crunchy fresh but milky bland. Potato salad was ok (7/10). White bread got a plastic sleeve. Pickles and onions got a plastic sleeve. The fancy cardboard sarcophagus morphed into a fancy plate. I told them I was gonna eat at their tables but it was packaged all fancy--including the tiny amount of meat $12.80 earned me.

This is upscale BBQ with fancy packaging and presentation but for 12.80 I wanted more meat (I got a quarter pound). Nice place to eat. They could serve the brisket at Franklin's in Austin. I wanted a two meat plate (not offered) but settled for a la carte which ended up expensive. The sides were too big and meat too small. Spicy sauce is amazing.

I recommend they replace "True Texas" with "Fancy Upscale" in their name and add vinegar or some zest...

My husband and I are recent residents of New Braunfels Texas and after shopping at H.E.B several times we decided it was time to try True Texas BBQ. I have to admit the lean brisket was the best I've ever eaten but unfortunately the service flunked. The order window was closed as soon as we stepped up to it. The man working the window was pulled to help fill the App orders. Obviously we were not a priority, we waited over 30 minutes to have our order taken. Several people gave up and left and one man downloaded the app and picked up his food the same time we did. I understand this happens often. Maybe they want to add to their employees? If we order from this location again it will be...
