Freebirds World Burrito — Restaurant in New Braunfels

Good service here, of course the usual salad bar burrito selections. I still prefer Chipotle. Blasphemy, I realize. But Freebirds is gaining. Want them to bring back the spinach tortilla. Also maybe some other varieties to take them that extra step above Chipotle. Am not wowed by the food here, meats are often a tad overcooked, dry, lacking flavor. Sauces are able to compensate slightly, with the extra fee guacamole it could work. For a chain, good enough.

They are doing pick up in the front, have tables closed in order to enforce social distancing. Hand sanitizer is available in several places. Employees are wearing masks, gloves whenever handling food. Notable that they were willing to give us extra sauces on the side, extra scoops when requested. All with a smile. If I could give no stars I would. This is my second time going to this location My first time there I was very unsatisfied and that was about two years ago so today me and my husband decided that we would give it another chance and just like the last time I was very disappointed once again when I walked up to the counter to order all the food that was there And it looked like it had been sitting out all day long. There were minimum choices because they were out of what seemed like almost everything. The taste of the food was very bland and it had a funny taste . Thoroughly disappointed in my online ordering experience. I was told that the food would be ready at 7:30. So I show up at exactly 7:30. Whenever I come in I have to flag down an employee after standing at the counter for about a minute. And when I tell them who I am they said oh we're fixing to start working on your order. Granted, it only took them about 15 minutes to make my food from the time that I told them I was there. But that's the whole point of ordering online. If you tell me the order is going to be ready at a time, it should be ready at that time. I can't even give them a pass because they were busy, they weren't busy. The food met expectations. The atmosphere in the restaurant is fun as always. And this one was pretty clean. And I guess I would have to blame the lack of having my food ready on the service.
