Imagine you and your group of friends just finished a fantastic meal at a nearby eatery or you're on a date with someone you want to have a fun time with. You want to go somewhere where it's fun and you can take cool FB or IG selfies. Most of all, you want something that's worth the cost. Look no further than Surreal Creamery where they literally can take your ice cream and customize it to your liking. You want a cone? You have three choices: red velvet, birthday cake or green tea waffle cones. Just add your desired ice cream and your toppings. You want a milkshake? Choose your flavor and toppings. You want an Ube flan ice cream? They've got you covered. So many to choose from and just like McDonald's, you can have it your way. Can we talk about all the flavors they have? Wait, did I see someone with the cookie monster shake?! After you select your ice cream, they take it and mash the cereals of your choices (and there are plenty) and create your master piece. Now go and share that surreal dessert because Albert the innovator does not mess around. He's literally turning the dessert upside down and shaking things up. Hence his upside down logo. The results are creative, deliciously sweet dreams and there's a wall for you to do selfies and tell your friends, "look what I'm having. Come on down and hang with me and share the fun." The place is very clean and the people who work there are beyond helpful at recommending combinations. The products are not too $$ for what you're getting. It's about $7 for most things and $3 for the cereal bars to be added if your heart so desires. My only suggestions for the owner are to get sturdier spoons. At my table, we had several that kept bending as we were scooping out the ice cream. Another is to get wider straws so it's easier for drinking the milkshakes. The milkshakes are decadent and we want to be able to drink all of the goodness with ease. Because everybody's orders are custom made fresh, patrons need to be patient because the turn around time is a bit long but I assure everyone, it's well worth the wait. I wish the owner Albert much luck and success. I'm betting it's going to be a go to place for...
Read moreI have been going periodically to this spot for nearly 3 years. The âFloteasâ they offer are unique and taste great. However, their customer service 3 years ago, and present day, needs work.
I first had a negative experience 3 years ago where the guy working there gave me an attitude because I politely asked for a lid since I needed to drive back home. He snarkingly replied âOkay well you shouldâve asked beforeâ and rolled his eyes at me. I ignored his attitude and tried to take a mental note to ask for it ahead of time going forward.
Tonight, I came back for my usual order. Again, the same guy still works there and yet again finds something to throw an attitude about. This time, even though I made sure to ask the worker who took my order to please put a lid on my drink before they started making it. When my drink came out, no lid. I politely tell the guy that I asked the worker for a lid before he started making it. He replied âOh well she didnât write it down anywhere, just grab a spoon and take this empty cup, dump whatever you donât want in it yourself. I have other people I need to take care of right nowâ and abruptly walks away.
I understand this type of work can be hectic, but you never tell a customer to perform a task that is part of your job, especially when it is a miscommunication problem amongst staff.
Both experiences, in addition to price increases, product shortages, workersâ poor attitude and customer service skills have made me no longer interested in coming back or recommending this place to friends...
Read moreWORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER GO IF YOU WANT YOUR DAY RUINED The icecream was okay but very rude server. My friend and I went there 5/8 at 3:10 pm to celebrate the last day of finals but had our day absolutely ruined. We were still deciding what to get and the server was coming to the cashier to get our order. So I said âon just one minute pleaseâ because, you know, I didnât want to disrupt him from what he was doing and make him awkward wait in front of the cashier for minutes doing nothing but the server said âI DIDNâT SAY HI TO YOU OR GAVE YOU A MINUTE YETâ with an attitude????????
I couldnât hear him clearly at the moment so we just kept deciding what to get and when I was trying to order he kept cutting me off and said âoh Iâm fine thank youâ sarcastically and wouldnât let me order twice??? I understand I didnât start off the conversation with hi how are you because I was being considerate but are you gonna do that to EVERY customer who does not start off saying âHi how are you?â I didnât even say it rude, I was being nice.
Now I regret getting an ice cream there with all the humiliation I got in front of everyone by getting cut off by the rude server. He could have handled the situation MUCH better and professionally. Will never go again just because of...
