Aladdin Crown Pizza — Restaurant in New Haven

My first order from Aladdin Crown Pizza will also be my last. I ordered a large Aladdin's Chicken Shawerma pizza, but whoever filled my order sent me an extra-large instead. While I appreciated the gesture, the pizza was way too large for the box and hence arrived partially folded over. Further, the pizza was not even close to hot. In fact, it was actually closer to cold. In terms of quality, it was honestly unpalatable at best. The chicken was very dry, the flavor was unappetizing, and the whole pizza lacked freshness. Admittedly, I did place my order at 11:40 p.m., but that is not an excuse for the overall quality of the pizza.

More problematic is my experience calling the restaurant to let them know the pizza arrived nearly cold. The person with whom I spoke repeatedly questioned my claim, telling me the pizza just came out of the oven. When I respectfully insisted that the pizza arrived nearly cold, he said that he would call me back or email me; he did not contact me. To be fair, he did ask what I would like him to do to correct the issue, but I told him that I simply wanted to let him know that the pizza arrived nearly cold. Still, there was neither a follow-up nor genuine concern that a customer was unsatisfied with an order, and that is not good business. Because of his response to a seemingly simple matter like food temperature, I considered it pointless to tell him about the poor quality of the pizza, so I passed on doing so.

Because of the experience I had with Aladdin Crown Pizza—both the overall quality of the food and especially the questionable service—I will not be ordering from this restaurant in the future. The two-star rather than a one-star rating is for (1) late-night hours, (2) on-time delivery, and (3) the willingness of the person with whom I spoke to correct the problem, despite his defensiveness. One star for the quality...

Ordered delivery chicken Caesar salad & a Stromboli. At first I was only very upset to find there was romaine lettuce & not a substitute( my job is currently using iceberg ) , there is a recall on romaine right now, as they SHOULD know. I called to see if it was possible to receive another salad & my boyfriend ended up in a heated argument with the "boss" stating we didn't specify the lettuce type. THERE IS A RECALL DOES IT MATTER IF I SPECIFIED OR NOT? either you DON'T serve it or you substitute. The "boss" would not issue a refund and or replace my salad. I ended the phone call only to find out my Stromboli which had specific instructions to have NO SAUSAGE just pepperoni had sausage in it as well. terrible customer service. honestly the worst customer service I've probably experienced, whoever the "boss" is really needs to learn customer...
