If you haven’t tried Thai food before, I’d recommend giving this place a shot. The location is a bit sketchy, but the dining experience is surprisingly comforting and complements the food well.
I ordered the red curry with white sticky rice and duck, along with the chicken wings and chicken pho. The wings were super crispy, maybe even a little too fried, but still enjoyable. The pho was pretty standard, nothing mind-blowing, but you can’t really go wrong with pho. They gave you all the essentials like bean sprouts, lemon, and herbs, which was a nice touch.
What really stood out was the red curry. They said it wasn’t too spicy, and I’d agree. It had just the right kick. I ordered it because it was their most popular item, and it definitely lived up to the hype. They don’t skimp on the protein either, which was great, and the portion was generous. I couldn’t even finish it. The food came out really hot, so I had to wait a bit, but once it cooled down, it was fantastic.
This restaurant may not be the prettiest, but it has that authentic charm. It’s the kind of spot Anthony Bourdain might have called a hidden gem because of the history and character behind it. I’d definitely recommend it, and I’m looking forward to seeing what else they do...

At first I thought maybe all the goodies are hiding under the broth, but no, that was the whole dish. The taste of the broth was mediocre at best. It tasted mostly fish source, no hint of beef bone flavor at all.
I was there on a Friday around 6 but there were only a handful of dinners. The only waitress working there was no where to be seen most of the time. After waiting for about 5 minutes for the waitress to get my check I got up from my table to see if I could find someone to ring me up. From near the cash register the chef was eating his dinner got up and ringed me up while still wearing stained gloves. But at that point nothing...
Read moreVery great Thai/Laotian food in the world (not just US). Prompt service. Fair price. I have tried pho in many places across the world, from Southeast Asian countries, to Taipei's Vietnamese immigrants community, to different restaurants across US, and this one is really delicious.
Pho soup is serious and legit, and the spring rolls tasty. Chilly are overwhlelmingly spicy for those challegers. Fried rice can be a rival of some of best fried rice in Taipei (and don't forget the fact that Taipei is home to the omnipotent fried rice of Din Tai Fung)
This is so great. I just tried it and I have...
