Update: The order was replaced at no cost Thank you Joe!
I had ordered from here Thrusday night, through uber eats. my order got brought to the wrong location but the driver who had my order was claiming they were going to bring my order back to the restaurant and let another driver pick it up. they then marked my order as delivered. took a photo of it and stole my order. i called t swirl to see if my order ever got brought back they said it did not but since uber wasn’t refunding me i asked the employee if there was anything they could do for me. they suggested to re order my order through uber again. i spent 40 dollars i wasn’t going to order another 40 dollars worth of food and risk it being stolen again and not receive a refund. i then asked the manager if there was anything she can do for me or if they could possibly even remake my order and id pick it up but because was met with the same answer i’d have to order again and pay the same 40 i spent. the reason i write this review is because i work in the restaurant industry. been serving for years and i was actually working this day a double and would’ve really appreciated the food i bought. it would’ve been a nice gesture given that ive spent years buying from this business and its just sad that my order was stolen and even sadder that i wasn’t helped much to replace it. i will say they gave me a number for uber support but that didn’t help because the number wasn’t in service. just disappointed cuz i was craving this place.
Update: Spoke to Joe and he told me that they would redo my order at no cost. i’m pleased with how easy it was fixed even tho it wasn’t there fault that my order got stolen. i will be returning to buy...
Read moreI visited your T Swirl Crêpe in New Haven CT over the passed Labor Day weekend 9/1-9/3 being a new business every customer need to get RESPECT at all times no matter what the question might be. It was my visit first time there the male who runs the register collecting and calling for orders was very EXTREMELY RUDE. He's short wears glasses (there's another male that assist the girls prepare your food that's not the Rude one) however I asked a question regarding a product noticed a Customer had it wasn't aware that was an option. So first incident he told me to wait he was abrupt and slightly rude but but I let it go he was a bit busy when I was able to asked my question he was extremely RUDE in responding and handed me a Menu. He didn't say it's under sweet crepe etc. to look for what I was asking about that ORDER he totally lost order that day. I would not go back there due his RUDENESS don't be in front if you can't have excellent CUSTOMER SERVICE. Every customer deserves % respect at all times. Don't hand a menu to me tell me about the products you are selling and serving when I ask you a ? If I saw it before I would not have asked but other people he did tell and suggested things. He does not know if I am a food critics and was rating the business. People rave about it my first experience was negative I rate all business good or bad so to avoid bad business try to be nice to all your customers. When the YALIES aren't around the regular customers are it. They make your Business. His behavior doesn't even deserve any at all. Many rave so I was happy to finally go went in happy came out annoyed at...
Read moreThis place serves both sweet and savory crepes. Their menu has a lot of different options of creative combinations that you wouldn't normally see in a crepe. They have chicken, shrimp, and smoked salmon available to put inside the savory crepes, along with a bunch of cold vegetable ingredients that are reminiscent of a poke bowl place. The staff are very nice and enthusiastic. The location is brand new and looks nice inside.
There are no vegetarian options on the menu for savory crepes, and all of the sweet crepes are really complicated concoctions. The blueberry cheesecake crepe was OK. It had vanilla ice cream on top which is never bad, but the crepe part was room temperature instead of hot, and the fillings did not blend together too well. It's nice that they used fresh blueberries, but the blueberries were raw and would have tasted better if they were allowed to be heated over the heating iron while the crepe cooked.
They did verbally offer a "vegetable lover" savory crepe that was not on the menu. However, it was to be filled with a few cold vegetable ingredients and did not come with avocado, which would seem like an obvious choice to add body and flavor to the otherwise lacking crepe. They do have fresh avocados available in their prep counter.
It is cool that they opened up this Japanese crepe place in New Haven. It is a welcome addition to New Haven and a good option for dessert and a light meal. Hopefully they will make sure their crepes are warm and work on getting some more options on the menu that are friendly for people who don't eat shrimp,...
