Our first meal upon arrival to New Orleans. One of the best sushi experiences I've had to date. Everything is prepared and presented perfectly and the overall seasoning balance is exceptional. We pushed the tamari dish away after the first bite because it's not needed. Each piece was put together to a t. We ordered a selection of our favorites. The uni was spot on but my favorite was an otoro nigiri with the added truffle pate and sturgeon caviar. I don't think I've had a single bite of sushi better than this one bite. A side of hot sake brought everything to a peak. The bird feeder maki was a revelation. It evolved as it dissolved in your mouth. The bar has been set very high for the rest of our visit. Please come enjoy this place. You won't be disappointed!

We were asked “sparkling, still, or tap,” and I chose “still,” assuming it meant regular water. Instead, we were charged $10 for it. If you’re going to charge that much for water, it should be clearly communicated, and the charge should at least reflect what was actually served. There’s also a 4% card fee that wasn’t mentioned anywhere. None of this is disclosed on their Instagram (which I checked before going), and they don’t have a website or online menu—which makes the lack of transparency even more frustrating. Our server was excellent—she handled everything smoothly even though it was busy, and she was working alone. But despite her great service, the hidden fees and inaccurate charges made for a disappointing overall experience.

This is exactly the sushi restaurant I’ve been waiting for in NOLA — high-quality enough for a nice date night without having to drop hundreds on an omakase tasting. All the rolls we had were delicious, fresh and inventive. I loved how creative they were, like the beekeeper roll with fried banana, avocado and honey. The maui waui was topped with outstandingly buttery kanpachi and macadamia nuts, and the satsuma salmon was beautifully light and citrusy. With happy hour discounts on hand rolls and drinks, we paid around $60 per person (pre-tip), which is more than reasonable for such fresh and delicious food. Definitely will be coming again!

i work down the block from this place, and have been wanting to try it! so i decided to stop by after work for the sake social, because why not. i just wanted to grab a quick dinner before i headed home.

i just got handrolls, because again, it was just me and i didn't want anything heavy. they were okay. there wasn't anything spectacular about the quality of the fish or anything. the seaweed was also a little soggy when i got it, which i'm assuming because it was sitting before being brought out to me. overall a forgettable experience.

service was okay. it seems very hectic in there, and i wish they had a host stand or something because i was standing around looking lost before a waitress came up to me to help me out.

one other gripe i have is that they charged me $10 for water! i was asked by the waitress "still or sparkling?" and when i said "still" i was under the assumption of getting regular water. nothing was said about the aqua pana being $10. perhaps don't make the assumption when someone says still they want to be charged $10? i paid for it because i drank whatever water was given to me, but it was surprising when my bill was double what i...

Sushi was mid. Nothing spectacular and surprisingly not as filling as I’d hope. I get it, a minimal look for menu looks great.. but not with so many items and small fonts bunched up. The place itself is small but nice. Mostly bar seating, some tables not many. We made a reservation online (which includes $30 charge if you cancel). We arrive, no host stand, walk in and stand there awkwardly til waitress can seat you. Sushi chefs were nice and that would be who takes your order if you sit close to the sushi bar. Bartender will take your drink orders. We asked for waters to start, it wasn’t really busy at all when we arrived but we never got our waters til we asked again when we got our appetizers. Vibes are indeed weird. I was confused if we even had a waitress, no one checked up on us. Chefs handed us our food. We had to ask one of the chefs for our check, even then it took a min for us to receive it and get change for it. I unfortunately left still hungry and unsatisfied with my first/last...
