My mother and I had a wonderful stay at the Terrell house during Mardi Gras in 2025. We stayed for 7 days and 6 nights, so we did a lot of research before we book for a longer stay like this, and we landed on Terrell because of its location, interiors, and included breakfast. All of these aspects exceeded our expectations. For location, we were able to walk 5 minutes to St Charles where the parade is, 15 minutes to a variety of coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and vintage shops, and 30 minutes to the heart of French Quarter. In terms of the interiors, everything gave us the authentic NOLA experience while staying on top of our needs - stable hot shower, comfortable beds, table and chair for me to do remote work, and clean. The courtyard was divine to do readings or have breakfast, which was so delicious and thoughtful. Everyone at the premise was so nice and welcoming - ever since my mom mentioned that she prefers drinking boiled water, they made sure that we have hot boiled water everyday. These are the details that will make me recommend this place to everyone i know that is planning to visit NOLA.

We checked in for a three night stay at about 3pm on a Tuesday. Annika was nice and answered our questions . The room is smaller than it looked online. The bathroom is 2.5 to 3ft deep at most. We had to leave the door open to dry off and dress after showers because it was so tight in there. There are no towel racks so we hung our bath towel on the sconce … there is a pedestal sink and nowhere to set anything… we moved a metal table from the room in under the sink for our things.|We have been staying in New Orleans twice a year for 20 years as our son lives here. So I do understand older homes turned in to bed and breakfast. I know the worn steep stairs are charming. I know the ornate fixtures are charming.|But also hospitality is part of the southern charm. We never saw Annika after check in.|Breakfast is in a room where we were told to sit and they would bring. No choice …|First day corn bread, biscuit, hash-browns that were so greasy and crunchy. We did not eat it.|If it were a serve yourself we would have left it and not wasted the food.||Second day it was eggs Benedict|And we did not even sit down||Today before we left we asked and it was scrambled eggs, bacon, and waffles. And since it was Friday you served yourself. The eggs were few left and cold, in a bowl not a warmer.|No bacon|A waffle but not syrup|To be fair They said they would make more food.|But there was nowhere to sit … so we decided not to wait fifteen to twenty minutes. We just hit the road .|My take away is that during the week there is no meat with breakfast and very little food offered. No fresh fruit around … just an apple or banana would be nice.|However it cost me $819 for three nights and I think you should have a nice breakfast for that price even during the week….|There was no desk |Not a soul around ever.|Just the person serving breakfast.|Not the southern charm we were hoping for.|I am not sure where all the people came from that filled the tables at breakfast today.|We did have chats with the other couple there the days we were and they were disappointed with breakfast and the fact that there was never anyone around.|They do provide plenty of towels, water and coke in your room.|There are no snacks around ever… no fruit, cookies or candy. |So I have it three stars. It is fine for one night but a longer stay...

This place is a gem! The location is just right and is tucked enough away from the hustle and bustle providing a serene setting. My husband and I stayed for 3 days in the carriage house room listed as The Red Room. The space was inviting, clean, and spacious. They provide complimentary water, coffee, and soda. I was very appreciative for the water seeing as the heat index went to 107 on the first day we were there. The breakfast was excellent! I really loved their Eggs Benedict the best I have ever had. Every day you have at least two hot breakfast items, fresh fruit, and a pastry item. They also have coffee, tea, apple, and orange juice. The property has two of the sweetest dogs who will love you if you wish and are respectful if you're into it. They are extremely well behaved and for me they were a delight to see in the mornings (I am a dog person). They also have an outside cat who is equally sweet and pretty laid back. The staff were kind and easy to talk to. They are helpful and great at ensuring you are comfortable and cared for. My room was cleaned everyday and the drinks were always restocked. My favorite thing is the place is not far from the amazing shops and restaurants along Magazine Street and a short walk to St. Charles Streetcar which can get you to Canal Streetcar via a short bus transfer. From there the city is very walkable. We will be returning and revisiting...
