Corporation Bar & Grill — Restaurant in New Orleans

I was referred here by a couple of my colleagues that work in the trade your business. On a recent trip to set up a show, I remembered the corporation bar was right around the corner. The restaurant/bar is your typical small bar with a kitchen in the back. The ladies that work the restaurant are not the most friendly, but then again they have to deal with construction-type guys all day long. I was able to get a smile out of one or two. Don't expect any help with the menu, as they want you to know what you're going to order when you show up. However this is not the Ritz, we don't come here for the polished experience. We come to be fed and they do a great job at this. The food is delicious and comes quickly. I hear the burger is delicious, but I got a shrimp po-boy which was very good and red beans & rice (equally as tasty). This is a great place to go for lunch when visiting New Orleans. The staff is awesome and the food was fantastic. There's something about finding a great, cheap, down-to-earth atmosphere where staff doesn't have to fake being overly nice to appease customers. The people here are genuinely cool. We (my boyfriend and I) were discussing, amongst ourselves, what we should order and mentioned splitting his po' boy and he could have some of my jambalaya. We placed our order at the kitchen, ordered some drinks, and sat at the bar. When our food came, the sandwich was cut in half on separate plates and since my boyfriend didn't want tomato on his, they brought a side out just in case I did. See? Cool people. We recently visited The Corporation Bar and Grill during our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Convention Center in New Orleans, and it was a hidden local gem. As we walked by it a few times, it didn’t appear to be much, a few cute picnic tables outside a small bar, but each time we passed, there was always a few people hanging out outside having fun. We met a super cool bartender who not only served up fantastic drinks but also went above and beyond to recommend an amazing pizza delivery place for us. He even called it in for us! The drinks were reasonably priced and strong, and the chill local atmosphere created the perfect setting for a relaxing night out.
