I stayed at a hotel a couple of blocks away and decided to try them based on good reviews. I had a hard time finding the place but a sweet employee came out of the building and was kind to help me find it. It’s on the main level inside the building. I was greated warmly and I placed an order for two breakfast sandwiches, two double espressos and 1 cappuccino. I had planned to take this back to my room and have breakfast there with my husband. I was happy with the service so far and I tipped 20% even though it was take out. Right after I paid she offered me to seat at the bar or seat in a small table that was not being used for customers that had a large cushion on one chair and a tray full of items such as butter and other condiments. She checked on me and brought me my cappuccino while I waited about 35 minutes. Right at the 35 minute mark what I thought was an employee approaches me without greeting me and asks if I had placed an order already. I told her yes, that I was waiting for take out. Very rudely and with a dismissive tone she asks me to leave the table and wait standing up outside the seating area, I was taken aback by her tone that I did not reply and just stared at her so she asked me again asking if I mind making the table available for other customers. I explained to her that it was the person who took my order that offered me a seat there, then turned around and rolled her eyes while walking away. There was a couple next to me that shook their heads in disapproval and I asked them if they thought she had been rude to me, they both said yes and he jokingly said he hoped he would not be kicked out next. I would not have minded if she had asked nicely, she could have also checked on my food because I waited so long and expedite it so I could leave the table quicker. I got up and asked another team member to direct me to the manager. What a surprise and disappointment to find out that it was the owner who had treated me that way. When she saw me talking to the team member she approached me upset and kept saying all I did was ask you to wait out there. I explained it was not what she said but how she said it. No apologies, kept her dismissive tone and walked away again. Absolutely horrible and unacceptable customer service from the owner. I no longer had appetite after being treated so poorly so I canceled my order and just took my husbands sandwich and his espresso. The team member I believe her name is Karla was so sweet and apologetic. I had interactions with 3 team members in addition to the rude owner and they were all kind and sweet. What a...
Read moreThis is an example of why you shouldn’t go to sports in touristy areas during peak times. We got here around 12:45pm on a Friday and had a good experience. W returned at noon on Saturday and boooy, was that a mistake. The line stretched around the block and we waited for an hour to get seated.
Located in a nondescript business/store front complex, this spot was not easy to find. It is super casual and does not seat a lot of people.
Both days, service was horrible. Severely understaffed. Felt bad for the team that had to be so overwhelmed. We never got water or utensils until we asked over and over and over again. Had to wait for staff forever for anything.
Be prepared for an up charge for any egg dishes. Seafood egg Benedict was disappointing. Barely any Hollandaise on each egg. Crabcakes were dry and bland.
Shrimp and grits were delicious. This Friday meal was solid.
Fried chicken club sandwich was delicious on Friday. On Saturday, it was inedible. Served cold (for how long has it been sitting on a counter?) Burnt chicken and burnt bacon, wilted, old tomato, barely any sauce, soggy, stale bread with finger dents. I wanted to cry, because I waited over an hour for this and what we got left a sour aftertaste.
This spot closes at 2, so at 1:40, staff are sweeping and washing floors and making every harried effort to get remaining customers to leave. I felt super rushed both times. Very disappointing.
Later after that upsetting Saturday burnt sandwich, my intestines started acting up, so I spent quite an hour on the toilet. I have a stomach of steel, so it takes a LOT for me to get any kind of indigestion/diarrhea....
Read moreWent to Two Chicks for the first time this morning based on the recommendation of a friend. It's an interesting place in that it is carved out of a little area in an open lobby of a hotel building. And although it sits out in the open once you walk past the podium at the entrance you feel like you are secluded in your own little restaurant. I loved it! The food is tremendous and very well proportioned. I ordered a farmhouse omelette with turkey, brie cheese, and green onions. I also got toast and a delicious large portion of grits along with that. The staff is very friendly and efficient even though the place was getting crowded and they were running here and there. The crowd was very eclectic one ranging from families with small children to the hipster couple whose entire body was covered with tattoos. The music was a great combination ranging from some Paul Simon compositions to Bob Dylan's, "Hurricane". I love The vibes of the place, the food, the staff and met a young man working there named Diony who is celebrating his 18th birthday today and excited about his future. Highly recommend that you check this place out if you're looking for a great spot to camp out for breakfast, observe,...
