My family had been eating at the restaurant frequently. Yesterday, my mom, my infant, and I went in for lunch. My mom and I both got Oyster Bar Trash and zucchini fries. That was the only thing we both ate yesterday. About 2 hours later, I was rushing my mom to the hospital. She couldn’t stop projectile vomiting and was saying she was in so much pain. Once we arrived to the hospital, I started vomiting as well to the point that I was eventually throwing up blood. I was in the emergency room screaming according to others but I don’t even remember a lot. We were so weak we had to be put into wheelchairs. We couldn’t even get up to use the restroom. This was the most pain I had ever been in. It was worse than my labor. I had blood drawn several times as well as other tests. The hospital staff was able to confirm we had food poisoning from seafood. I’m not sure if the seafood had been left out, if it was old, or if dirty tools were used to prepare the food; however, I was not sure if we would make it. If you consume the wrong bacteria it can be deadly. It was terrifying. I will never eat at Landry’s again and I highly advise others to take the same precautions. You do not want to experience what happened to us.
In hindsight a few months ago my daughter was maybe 3 months old. While we were on the patio, my daughter had a baby blowout. Most public restrooms have a changing table, but I don’t like to put my baby on those because they are very germy. I found a corner and I was trying to change her on my lap in private. A very nice female server came out and offered to help. The help was by bringing me a white table cloth. This was the same exact table cloth from the tables throughout the restaurant. She told me I could bring it into the bathroom stall and lay it on the changing table so that my baby wouldn’t touch the changing table. She told me that after I was finished using it, I could just leave it in the bathroom and she would get it. Now that I think about that, I cringe because bacteria is spread so easily and E. coli infection is life altering. If they’re allowing customers to use their white table cloths to change babies in their bathroom stalls and then returning the soiled table cloths to be washed with the others , I have no idea what they’re contaminating in the kitchen. I wish I would have taken that as a sign to never go back but in that moment my main concern was keeping my baby safe and getting her cleaned up.
We are still trying to recover and are on lots of medication to relieve nausea and stomach pain. I’ve contacted the restaurant and they have of course tried to avoid taking responsibility. A full refund would be appropriate after what we are going through, but in the mean time I would like to spread the word so no one else has to endure what me and my mom are going through. It has been a nightmare trying to get back hydrated...
Read moreOk, I would have given it ZERO if possible. I've been a landry's customer 30 years and this was the worst meal and experience EVER. New Orleans Landry's is a bad vibe with bad food and poor service. I belive "slop Bucket" is the local term. They are correct. LET'S START WITH THE SNOTTY HOSTESS. First at 4pm on a slow Wednesday, a snooty unreasonably self righteous HOSTESS made a big deal about us not having a reservation. Maybe 6 customers in the place and she rolled her eyes and "huffed" about us being walk-ins. Hey Babe...you are a HOSTESS. THAT MEANS HOST. Preferably, with a pleasing smile. It does not mean complain to the customers! SERVICE: Next, the service was just bad. We were seated in Siberia upstairs. We listen for 15 minutes while the BARTENDER dressed down our server because it was not his job to bring drinks to our table. DRINKS: The bartender made the drinks wrong. DUDE...if you cannot make a signature menu drink, please turn in your apron. I sent mine back and was afraid to reorder because it seemed so shady that he may spit in the drink...or worse. FOOD: 4 out of 10 Stars They put a cup of watered down gumbo in a bowl for $24.00. NOT KIDDING. The redfish was not blackened. The rice was undercooked and hard. DESERT: I preordered BANANAS FOSTER. WORST IVE EVER HAD. If they have a souse chef, please fire them. This $11 desert was prepared hours if not days in advance. It was not bananas foster. The bananas were not ripe and the desert was stale. In fact the only thing fresh about the entire meal was the sprig of fresh mint. I asked to see the manager following the meal. However, the were too embarrassed to come talk to a customer about a measly $100 LUNCH. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. TOO MANY GOOD CHOICES TO DROP MONEY AND WASTE TIME ON A BAD MEAL HERE. ZERO STARS!...
Read moreWas looking forward to having great food, drinks and service because I've been here before and it was excellent! However, me and my date fist get there and we couldn't sit at the bar downstairs, we had to be seated upstairs...that was fine, no problem! We were welcomed by the waitress and put in drink orders, she also tried to sell us a 25$ member card, we declined, she kept insisting and finally after 3 "no thank you" she walked away.....we ordered 1 double crown & 7 and 1 old fashion ( old fashion was not made right and the crown and 7 was definitely not a double) no problem, I just sent it back and ordered a double crown and 7 as well ( was not a double, very weak drink) after 15 minutes we received our drinks.....waitress came to take food order, I asked about the oysters, I wanted charbroil and parmesan, she told me they were only serving raw and the crab oysters....so I decided to just get 6 raw and we ordered a shrimp cocktail..... drinks finally came and food came...we ordered another round of drink ( 2 double crown and 7, both weak) the bartender came and apologized for the old fashion not being made right and gave my date another crown & 7 ( it was an actual double) ask for check and was charged 50 dollars for 4 crown & 7's which were horrible.... asked the waitress why the drink were so expensive and was told, it's 12.50 per 1 oz of alcohol, she was loud, rude and basically not professional at ALL..... we paid, even tipped and left.....I will Never be back! Horrible food, service and drinks! I don't mind paying good money to eat and drink but I would like to have what the hell.i.paid for.....very pissed when I left! Get it...
