The five stars are not for what you usually give five stars for, like fancy cocktails and stylish decor. The five stars are for being exactly what it is and not trying to be anything else. This is a neighborhood bar, a dying breed, with cold cheap beer, and local craft beer on tap. A new kitchen menu is in the works, so perhaps free red beans on Monday will be a casualty, but likely worth it for the new options in food. TV heavy, with sports and probably some TBS movie, but the vibe is all about visiting friends and neighbors. Maybe watch Good Fellas for the fiftieth time with the regulars and strike up a welcomed conversation? Friendly bartenders. Good games in the “back room” and of course, pool and video Internet jukebox, but you better ask first, because you know, Good Fellas is on. Has a lively late night scene with many service industry folks, and locals making their “last stop” before heading home. Not local? Just hop off the Canal St. streetcar at N. Bernadotte and walk down a block and a half to Bienville. You can make it a two-pher visit and check out Second Line Brewery as well, which is only a block away from Mick’s. Other restaurants and coffee houses nearby, such as The Station coffeehouse, Bevi’s Seafood and Frey’s barbecue. Great neighborhood to ride a bike and quite near the Lafitte Greenway...

Before he had to make himself appear more unprofessional by telling us to leave, we obliged his rude comment and promptly left. Good job in driving...
Read moreI will never ever go back to this place after the way I was just treated. I had never been there before and instead of making me feel welcomed and simply answering my question, the man decided to scold me like I was a child. (I’m a 43 year old woman). This person really needs to re-think his line of work if he thinks it’s ok to treat people like this and if Mick’s thinks it’s ok to employee people that treat their customers like garbage, it’s not the place for me. Way too many other spots in...
