Public Belt — Restaurant in New Orleans

The atmosphere and vibe of this bar is great but what made it my favorite spot to grab a drink was single handedly their bartender, Marlee. Her skill behind the bar, passion for her craft, attention to detail in her service, and knowledge of her trade was absolutely magnetizing. Marlee made my first drink, a Sazerac cocktail, when I got into town which started me on a mission to find the best one in New Orleans. Every single drink that I had in New Orleans that was not made by her hand left me wanting and paled in comparison while hers consistently set the bar. My wife and I were extremely impressed by the Public Belt, specifically our bartender Michael. The quality of the cocktails were spot on. Michael is an engaging bartender who knows his stuff. It was amazing watching him create each drink. The first night we told him want we wanted but on our next three visits we trusted Michael enough that we requested he use his knowledge to make us something we would like. Observing him work was compelling. He would pull various items from different places to mix into the liquid pleasure we continue to discuss with each other. Y’all I am a native and I had never been in this bar. It’s located inside the Hilton hotel. This is a hidden gem. It’s decorated beautifully, the drinks were good and they have an amazing selection of Bourbon ( husbands favorite). Marlee the bartender both nights we went was great. Her customer service was professional, she was attentive but not intrusive and she was good conversation. And the playlist had me singing and dancing in my seat.
