I do NOT recommend this company what so ever. Francheska is extremely rude and unprofessional. I have booked TWO separate times and both times they kicked my boyfriend and I out of the group because their website allows bookings even if it is full. They do not try and work with you and are not apologetic by the inconvenience. Francheska literally asked me “What do you want me to do about it” as well as “And where do you plan on showing up at?” As a company who lives off of customers, you would think they would have someone who is kind, accommodating, and good at communicating but this is not the case. The first time, the individual did not give a name and when I told them they weren’t providing accommodating time they said “ok” and then “refunded”. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and rebook but this is ridiculous. I am SHOOK they have 4.8 review because both experiences I have don’t even reach one star. I even reached out to see if I could talk to the owner to share concerns that I’ve encountered and her response wasn’t even asking a question her response was “we have no spots left”… okay I love the assumptions we are making but that’s not why I’m contacting you. The customer service is baffling to me. I recommend anyone else but this company.
Here is one of the many screenshots I have from the owner since she wants to threaten me by saying I was rude. So how about we let the customers decide like she wanted :) As you can see I just asked to speak to the owner since this was the second time my group was getting kicked out of the tour I paid for with a...
Read moreI would not advise against this provider for Swamp tours. We were really dissatisfied.
It started with the fact that only after booking the tour is highlighted that the tour does not start in the city of New Orleans, where we found the provider on google maps, but 30 - 40 minutes away by car. On the one hand, I find it unfair that this is not clearly indicated in the booking process (maybe it is somewhere in the small print), but only - very clearly and boldly marked - in the booking confirmation after you have paid for the tour. In addition, the ride to get to the departure point also costs unnecessary time and money (in our case 2x40 dollars for Uber). Other providers depart much closer to the city.
Neverthelss, we were also very dissatisfied with the tour itself. The boats are very noisy. You get soundproof headphones, but of course you can't talk with your neighbours then. Furthermore, we had a guide who asked us if an alligator should come onto our (small) boat. All tour participants clearly said "No!", and he still lured an alligator onto the boat with a chicken leg, right in front of our legs. If people want action and thrill, it's ok, but if all the participants say they don't want it, and the guide does it anyway, I feel it's encroaching.
And last but not least, we were disturbed by the fact that the guide fed ducklings with marshmellows (which he called "crack for the alligators"). He has lured the ducklings to the boat with the marshmallows and the ducklings seemed to like it, but it certainly didn't do...
Read moreThe Swamp Tour was an absolute steal of a deal and a superb experience.
Upfront, while it may cost you a little extra, you should use the shuttle service if coming from French quarter or downtown New Orleans because there are many nice perks. Firstly, the drivers themselves make the drive between New Orleans and Westwego (where the swamp tour is) an experience with their vast knowledge and suggestions of the city to and from the swamp. Also, on the way back you can bring an alcoholic drink (or drinks if you’re feeling yourself) to enjoy. Probably spending too much time on the shuttle but it really is an added experience to the tour, imo.
As for the swamp tour itself… the team and staff there really love what they do and it shows in the quality of the tour and how much they know about the environment. We elected for the pontoon type vessel rather than the fan boat which was quite comfortable and gives you a bit more of an educational experience. There are plenty of gators to see and watch them gulp marshmallows, but also plenty of other wildlife to watch out for in addition to the surprisingly beautiful swamp. The captain was excellent and smooched a gator he baited into coming close via some marshmallows. Once you get back, you can check out the seafood market and even eat some gator if you have short term memory, enjoy the bar and beautiful outdoor area. It’s a great time, even if a little touristy, and this organization...
