I'm not too sure how to go about this place, first night the bartender was great however I can tell there was a lot of locals that are regular to this place that there was a lot of cursing back and forth from the bartender to the customer but in a conversation. Good was great older guy who was the cook made sure our food came out ok and even asked for feedback. Second time we went there the make bartender was rude as hell! He did notice is right away but we asked for him to give us a min since we didn't know the menu like the locals so he said ok and went away, we were ready to order but he was having a conversation with his regulars and forgot about us. The cook which was a different one decided to step in so he can continue cooking meanwhile the bartender decided to pay us any mind. He finally did come over and he spazzed out talking about you don't talk to the cook about orders I'm the person to talk to, he just cooks the orders I give him and so on so forth, so we gave him the order and he was like u either pay now or u start a tab... Which the girl from the first time did not ask us that at all... So we paid ahead. Also there is a lot of drinking that both bartenders do. I'm not sure if that's normal there or not but once a customer takes a shot they take one also. Anyway we was towards the end of our food and we see a mouse đŸ˜± so we got up and left, we didn't leave a tip to The bartender but we did to the cook because he stepped up to keep things moving.

The Jimani was recommended to us by a local guy as we were walking down the street starving looking for a place to stop and eat. We ordered the spicy crab po’boy and the papa’s Philly cheesesteak. The crab po’boy was so freaking delicious- definitely recommend! The cheesesteak however was EXTREMELY salty, almost to the point of being inedible. We were required to buy a drink since we brought an outside drink into the establishment. I ordered a Malibu and pineapple - not sure if the bartender thought that I was too drunk to notice or what but there was definitely no Malibu or alcohol in the beverage at all. I also did not like that she held my credit card behind the counter and as I was observing while I was in there - she did not hold anyone else’s card. We were in there around 7-8 PM and it was not busy at all. Mediocre experience - would be less stars if the crab po’boy wasn’t to die for. The bartender did seem sweet and genuine if I didn’t feel like we were being profiled for being “intoxicated” pretty blonde girl with highlights and her hair curled - nice smile. The cook brought our food out fast. Overall, we paid $36 for both meals and the drink.

Anthony Bourdain said “Don’t drink at your hotel. Find out where the people who work at your hotel do their drinking." This is the place. I grew up in the service Industry and was treated like a regular the moment I walked in. This was the first bar on my first visit to NOLA and I will be returning every time. The food was great. There is a small kitchen in the corner but that gal was throwing down in there. The boudin balls were dope and the remoulade was so good. I also had a poboy that was delicious. The bar staff are great. Sam makes a proper old fashioned and of course I had a Sazerac that was perfect as well. It was a very interesting first night in a new city. Unfortunately the POS went down but I had a great time visiting with Stephan and the staff hanging out while they fixed it. This place feels like a home away from home and I can't wait to return.

Me and my boyfriend wanted a snack as we were in the area to see a show at Le Petit Theatre. We decided to try this bar out. As we walked in we received stares but decided to give it a try anyways. We wound up waiting for 20 minutes on our nachos but decided not to be Karens about it and just wait and be patient. I then noticed that the cook hasn’t been in the kitchen for a solid ten minutes and the bartender had to waive him down and let him know about our order. Fifteen minutes later we finally got our food so we waited a solid 40 minutes. Before we left we needed to wash our hands because they were messy from the nachos so we went into the restroom together. The door was opened on us and the bartender told us that we couldn’t be in there together and she pointed out that “there was even a sign.” Okay, fair. So I wait outside the bathroom door and the bartender is staring me down. At first I thought maybe they were worried about people getting frisky in the bathroom together and I thought that was reasonable concern as there was only one urinal in the men’s restroom and they may not want a bathroom line to form and it is the French quarter where that happens frequently amongst belligerently dunk folk. I debated about going to the women’s restroom but decided against it due to the atmosphere. My boyfriend came out and then I stepped in. As I’m washing my hands (and peeing) I hear from outside the restroom that my boyfriend is being yelled at to “back away from the door” and “y’all need to leave.” So I hurry up and we leave the bar. Later my boyfriend tells me that she accused of us doing coke and was harassing him for standing “too close” to the bathroom door waiting for me. There was no lock on the door and I was wearing a skirt and tights so he just wanted to make sure no one would walk in. I can confidently say coke was not in my evening plans nor is it ever. So, in combination of the wait on the nachos, their overpriced nature, and getting accused and yelled at in front of a bar full of people we will not be coming back. Trust...

The bartender handed a menu to a cpl at the bar and as they were looking trying to decide what to get I asked if I could order since I knew what I wanted already.. she( the bartender) was well are you gonna be rude and order ahead of these people when actually we had come in first but she didn't even acknowledge us . She took my order which was she took down wrong. It was a simple order .. burger with pepper jack cheese no tomato with an order of mozzarella sticks. We played video poker as we waited for our food. She screamed my name sarcastically and slide my food to me across the bar. We I took it and noticed it had cheddar and tomato onit. I decided to let it be and just took it off and ate my cheese sticks and my boyfriend ate the burger and we continue to play video poker. When I went to cash my ticket I asked for two 10s. She ripped the ticket from My hand and huffed and puffed to the register and brought back a 20 and two 1s. I asked for change again she huffed and puffed again to go get it. Now I used to be a Bartender and waitress and currently work at Cleo's on canal St as a cashier and customer service is my number 1 concern. Pre-pandemic I was the waitress but we haven't had table service come back as of yet. Either way I would never treat a customer they I was treated there. I don't think she realized I was a local, not a tourist, who actually spends alot of money locally. We play alot of video poker and usually tip very well . I usually go to sneaky Pete's or the alibi or the 3 legged dog, but they were too full. So we wanted to try somewhere different . I left a two dollar tip when I ordered my food even after the attitude but before receiving my food. She ignored everything I said to her because she thought we didn't have any money.. I will not ever order food or even a drink from this place again. Next time I will go back to where I am treated nicely, even respectfully and pass on...
