Went to this restaurant for lunch. The staff and the service had wonderful customer service and very welcoming in this place. It was beautiful place to hang out outside and look over water. You had two beautiful bars and large TVs so if you want to watch sports great Sports Bar lots of tables so if you want to be close to make new friends this would be a good place to go. A nice dining area in the back with nice booths. The bathrooms are super clean awesome. But the food I would say is more for age group 16 to 25-year-olds. The chicken tenders somewhere small somewhere big I think they all should be one size and the big ones need to be cut down a little bit. Chicken tasted like Chick-fil-A chicken but the batter they use kind of little bit soggy on some parts of the chicken so those parts didn't taste so good. The fish in the fish and chips the batter tasted like waffles. I'm sure it's probably because they use beer batter and didn't cook off all the beer it's probably why it tasted like that. I don't think waffles and fish go together at least not for me. So I took off the batter and just ate the fish fish with the lemon on it and the tartar sauce was pretty good. The french fries was very plain I've never tasted plain french fries like this it had no flavor. My suggestion is either create a new seasoning signature seasoning of Their Own and put on the french fries be careful of the salt for low sodium people or change the oil and cook with a different kind of oil because it killed these potatoes for french fries so it's very disappointed it tastes like I was eating nothing. The barbecue sauce I know people like sweet barbecue but I am sorry I'm traditional kind of girl. I don't believe barbecue sauce should be sweet or any additives need to be added to a barbecue sauce it's just wrong. I tried the barbecue sauce and I need to spit out my food it was so bad. I don't know how anyone eats that kind of sweet barbecue sauce it was terrible. The food might not be good for grown ups unless you're there for hanging out and watching sports with a bunch of people and a bunch of teams and wanting to meet meet new people that's a great place to do that and eat that kind of food. Or if you're young under 25 years old this will be a great hang out for all of you the food would match...
Read moreI have been going here for over 4 years - ever since I moved to NSB and we frequent this place because its so close to home. The best things on the menu are their burgers, their tortellini (get it with alfredo...its really good), the chicken tenders (regular or buffalo - both fantastic), the beer cheese soup (pair it with the pretzel and its a meal), and the pork schnitzel (delicious). I've had other items that were not so good - i've had to send the mussels back due to the number of unopened shells (a sign they're no good and they were super fishy smelling), the veggie burger for being too salty, the Honeyed Mahi (i just didn't like the density and taste...paired with plain jasmine rice was not worth the cost), and the philly for not having enough meat. I've also mentioned the limited sides a million times to the staff. It's time to offer a vegetable of the day or more veggie options other than the steamed mixed veggies. I've also suggested having celery and carrots for the buffalo wings, but one of my big complaints has been the wine pour. I wouldn't recommend having wine glasses with lines if you're not pouring to the top line or somewhere in between. I've had pours that didnt even reach the bottom line on the glass. Add to this, I've only had like 1 server that has actually treated us like repeat customers. The service is spotty at best.
The last thing i will comment on is the space. I gave this 4 stars because the place is huge. I love the indoor/outdoor option and they have a good number of TVs, outdoor games and a stage. I can't give it 5 stars until they make better use of the large dining area in the back that only gets utilized during the peak season. There should be pool tables or an indoor entertainment space there (bands, dance floor, jukebox, etc.) in my opinion. They may have restrictions on that in the area, but if they could, they should.
I want to support local business and i want the Half Wall to stick around, but they have some tweaking to do, so I'm only...
Read moreI like it for large groups & hanging out with friends, but personally found it just okay; wouldn't go if it was just me solo; the food is good, but not something I'll crave.
Great selection of beers (both on the menu & on tap…) Definitely would recommend if you're looking to taste test or have friends with an assorted beer palette.
Lots of TVs, plenty of seating along the bar & in booths, as well as a separated half that's quieter; Very large venue, & great for groups!
Good selection of food, decent size portions & reasonable prices are always a plus. Service was very courteous & welcoming. Our waitress was great, and the general manager even came to ask how everything was.
Ordered:
Half Wall Trailer Blonde
Half Wall Burger w/Coleslaw - "Cheddar cheese, bacon, beer braised onions and a sunny side up egg"; Bun was toasted, and the burger had the perfect amount for the bite to mouth size ratio. It tasted great at first, however I did notice after a few bites I didn't really notice the meat had much flavour, but the bacon, cheese, & onions still had a great amount of flavour, so not really disappointed.
All and all not disappointed. Would go back again; They had a Guinness Float on their dessert menu I wouldn't mind trying, and I've had their Half Wall Stugel Fugel at The Breakers which was great and was what got me excited to try this place when I heard about it.
Only thing to note is that we sat in the 2nd (quieter) section and found that the A/C was a bit too forceful/cold when on, so some of us were using our sweaters/jackets off and on.
Ps. - Just found out they're the sister restaurant to The Breakers, and I didn't want to compare them before but it did remind me of their menu…...
