We live in the area and frequently eat a Cracker Barrel. I was so looking for you. They’re delicious fried cod on Friday and it was the worst fish I have ever been served in a restaurant. What happened to the old recipe? The batter on this fish was so thick and hard I had to break the pieces off to get to any fish as I’m afraid of breaking a tooth on the big chunks of batter once I got into the fish there was very little of it. All my pieces were mostly big trucks or better. I always enjoy the carrots, but they were also severely lacking. They were cooked, but they were cold and they were dry as a bone not one bit of seasoning or moisture on them, I could not eat them. My friend ordered the rainbow trout which he had had the last time we were there and so much enjoyed it, but on Friday, it was barely edible. The skin was still hanging on it and so much lemon pepper was coated on it at the chop or totally black. Most of it was an edible as well. My friend scraped as much black pepper seasoning off as he could, but it was Too bad. The dumplings he got as a side were all in one comp when he stuck his work in. He could not get a single dumpling. It was a big wad of dough next week get to the corn muffins, which were hard as a rock and the killer of an old copper penny, V biscuits were white and flat and tasteless almost like an on finished little thick pancake. We could not eat any of the biscuits or corn offense. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant in a long time. We thought since we could barely eat any dinner that we would top it off with some Coca-Cola cake, but it was a great disappointment. The flavor was there, but the cake was merely a pile of crumbles, you could not cut through it with fork or get a bite on your fork as it was all crumbs. These dinners were so bad that I even felt embarrassed to tell the waitress Because there was not one good item on the mail except for my friends cheesy hashbrowns. My sister and her whole entire family were planning to come there some night for the fish as she had had your fish before and thought it was the best fish around, but I had to warn her to not to come because Our dinners came too everything to nearly $60 and we could barely eat any of it. I don’t think I will ever come back to...
Read moreI’ll start off by saying that we have been to dozens of Cracker Barrels all over the country. We travel full time and Cracker Barrel is a restaurant we frequent since it’s usually reliable, and we know what type of food and service we’ll receive. Unfortunately, tonight’s dinner was the worst we’ve ever experienced at a Cracker Barrel. We ordered the fried pickles appetizer, which while good, the portion size seems to be shrinking. That would have been fine if the rest of our dinner was good. But unfortunately, that was not the case. After about a 30 minute wait, our entrees finally came out. My husband ordered the chicken tenders with fries. They tasted fine, but were much smaller than they used to be. My son and I both ordered burgers, and they looked and tasted like the patties had been overcooked and then sat under a heat lamp all day. They were hard and SO dry. We let our server know, and she said she would have them remade. About 20 minutes later, we still didn’t have the replacement burgers, so we asked to speak to a manager to just get our check and go, since my husband and other son had already finished their meals. The manager came over to our table, and my husband explained the situation. As he was still talking, she just walked away without even saying anything! Finally our server came back with our check, and she had taken off the burgers. We still left paying over $40 for 2 dinners and a small appetizer. It’s just insane to me that the prices have increased so much, along with the significant decrease in quality. And they keep changing the menu and removing things we used to enjoy. A couple of the tables next to us seemed to have problems with their...

Our family attended the West Overton Village DIY event for our family fun day out and then decided to end the day with dinner at this Cracker Barrel location. We have come here one time before and really enjoyed it. I must say the second time around was even better!
The service was top-notch from the time that we entered the building till the time that we left. Whether it be our server, the hostess or the ladies behind the checkouts, they were very courteous.
The food was absolutely amazing and the portions are generous. There is a large fireplace between the kitchen doors and wooden tables and chairs along with vintage and antique decor on the walls. Feels like you’re sitting in your grandma‘s dining room so it definitely gives you that family feel.
My favorite part of the restaurant is the general store. I love how they are always on top of things with holidays and seasons with their displays and sales. This time around, there were Halloween displays which really got me excited for the upcoming season. Lots of great throwback candy and fun sodas to choose from. Toys, clothing, and lots more! Make sure to put Cracker Barrel on your list of places to shop for gifts. Even if you aren’t intending on eating there, the gift shop is seriously cool! Highly recommend!
