An amazing Parisian bakery that is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood. The baguette is maybe the best I’ve tasted outside of Paris. It’s So good you won’t even dream of freezing any part of it nor does this deserve that. You will eat the entire thing in one sitting.
The pistachio & chocolate pastry (escargot Pistache) pictured above rivaled the likes and deliciousness of the famous Parisian boulangere “du pain Des idèes” except this was a much friendlier experience. I’ve gone back twice this week to try the croissant. It’s flaky, buttery (but too much) and the inside is fluffy and airy and absolutely scrumptious.
The carrot cake slice was equally calling my name. So I tried that. It Has nuts, it’s beautiful with whipped dollops of cream cheese frosting meticulously placed so that you have it in every bite. While it’s not my favorite carrot cake I’ve ever had, it was good. So far I prefer the other items more and can’t wait to try the all the baked offerings.
It’s Definitely a must try in the neighborhood and you can laugh at the people waiting in line at magnolia or muffins and take yourself to this gem instead. You...
Read moreI'd stopped by this place many times when in the area, including before the pandemic, and made a point of returning when they reopened. The various pastries and other food items were at least good, and the service v courteous-- until a few weeks ago. Even though they close at 7, the next-to-last time I stopped by, around 6:30, no more espresso drinks were available, and I was informed of this in quite a brusque, irritated manner. Last night's experience took the proverbial biscuit, though: I saw some v appetising-looking fruit tart and ordered a slice -- only for the person on duty to discourage me from buying same, claiming that it had been sitting out too long -- the sort of thing you say when you don't want someone's custom, which suits me fine. Never going...
Read moreThis place deserves 10 stars on just their pastries alone. I’m obsessed with their ham/cheese croissant & the chocolate croissant. Very flakey, premium ingredients, no skimp on the ham/cheese/chocolate. I could eat either of these every morning.. for the rest of my life.
They had this plum tart thing last week & it was also fire. Get there early bc the tomato pastry was sold out when I was there at noon.. they open at 8am & closed Mondays. Currently only sells coffee because espresso machine isn’t in yet. I personally don’t care bc the pastries are so good I don’t...
