Horrible food! Not sure, how they got 5 stars on Seamless. It was our first time ordering from Anand so we ordered a couple of dishes, and were left absolutely disappointed!! Chicken tikka masala- it upsets me that a place like this would use frozen chicken to make this dish plus the sauce was like a thick tomato soup. CTM is supposed to be rich, creamy, velvety, and full of flavor. But, this CTM screamed tomato soup;-(
Goan Shrimp - the description on their menu says “Fresh shrimp cooked with coconut milk, curry leaves and mustard seeds.” But, what we received had no sign of coconut and was soaking in a lot of minced garlic and onion. No sign of coconut, curry leaves, or mustard seeds. It was a simple shrimp curry.
Chilli chicken- I had mentioned in the description/notes that I need a dry one and not a gravy chilli chicken. But, clearly no one paid attention to the notes as we got a gravy chilli chicken.
Jeera rice - awesome. Garlic naan and mint parantha - great.
Will we ever order again? - Absolutely NOT!! Horrible...
Read moreWhy haven't I tried this place before? The first question that came to my mind when I took the first bite of the delicious baingan bharta. I ordered a pre fixed lunch with a side of rice, roti, dish (of your choice) and an appetizer. First of all this is great value for money, good quantity equally combined with tasty and freshly made food. They sent a generous quantity of baingan bharta (my choice of vegetarian dish) and I can say I have never eaten a better one in my life from a restaurant. Well made, delicious and even consistency (if you make this dish at home you will know). The side dish of aaloo chat was neatly packed with four varieties of chutneys.. the aaloo patty was crispy and tasted fresh. I also have to add that none of their food items had excess oil that usually comes with Indian food from restaurants. I really want to compliment the chef and appreciate the flavor, taste, quality and price. Pls continue the good work, I'm definitely ordering from here...
Read moreThis is not a very visible restaurant from the street...it is not on the main avenue (2nd Avenue)...it is on a side street, 78th, and a little pushed back ...so no bright visible signs leading to Anand...but it is our excellent, modestly priced Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant neighbourhood restaurant. The food is always good and tasty and nicely spiced...my preference is for their Tilapia Curry...their yellow dal is wonderful. And it is less pricey than some of the Indian restaurants on the avenue, and better tasting. Excellent, welcoming staff. Often not very crowded. It now has a liquor license...and could do with with a wider range of quality beers, including IPAs (main reason for 4 stars rather than 5!) Here there is no attempt at fancy, upscale Indian cuisine...it is just good, down-to- earth, tasty...
