I have been purchasing cakes from Angela for a very long time-way back when she started in a basement in the Inwood area. Her cakes are truly delicious and moist and at a reasonable price compared to other bakeries. Instead of going directly to the bakery I called. I spoke with Oscar who’s the only one that speaks English. I emailed him a few pictures of Hisoka and he gave his recommendations as well. The Hisoka image is made out a confectioner paper. The cake was in total 70 dollars and it was a 1 pound cake which is HUGE and a lot. I was disappointed that if the cake is round the image should be round to blend in. The printed paper was visible and that was disappointing too. My daughter didn’t mind it at all. So I guess that was ok. I recommended to Oscar that if the cake is round that the image should be round as well. If I would’ve know, I would have requested a square cake. Overall, Angela’s cakes are delicious and extremely moist. She has many flavors that you can order from : guava, strawberry, dulce de leche and many others that I don’t remember right now 😂. I highly recommend her and will keep getting cakes from her.

My mom ordered a cake for 6/27 and it was $40. I ordered a cake for 7/4 and it was $65. Why? She gave me a whole bunch of excuses design, golden border etc. It was all completely BS because I don’t see a big difference between the cakes. They need to be consistent with pricing and not change it when they feel like it. If it’s $40 1/2 LB then it’s $40 not $65 and tell people it was because of a gold border because the $40 cake had the same border. Mind you they didn’t ask me what border I wanted they made those decisions on their own. Def order in person and ask questions. I ordered via phone and I will never do that again if I decide to buy from them again.

I always order all my cakes from here because is the closest to getting a cake from Dominica Republic, I love the softness of the dough and the taste is delicious. It’s ridiculous to charge $45 for a 1/2 lb without any decoration or any icing, I just waned that dough with filling. When I call to place an order the girl that took the call told me it was only going to be $22, to my surprise it wasn’t. I have to say the their customer service is by far the worse I have received, still love the cakes but I might need to shop around for another bakery. If anyone knows of any other, please let me know.

They're cakes are delicious! The rating is not for their cakes but because of their customer service. No professionalism whatsoever. Seems to be understaffed because each time I go they are talking to me, on their phone, colleague and the client behind me all at the same time. I had placed an order a month in advance( and was the first order placed for that day, I saw the sheet and young lady who took my order also told me) for 36 cupcakes for a bday. I said I will pick up at 11 even though I wasn't leaving to the place until 5. I just wanted to give them enough time in case they were running behind. I go to the bakery at 3 and my cupcakes weren't done yet! They didn't even bother to call to keep me updated (they had my number). Other clients were coming and going with their orders but yet I was still waiting for mine. 3:30pm ,still no cupcakes. 4pm nothing. At 4:15pm is when I was finally out of there with my cupcakes. I had to be at the place at 5 and it was about an hour drive so because I had to wait so long for the cupcakes, I was super late. They didn't even apologize or offered an explanation or even some kind of discount. I didn't want to argue because it was my daughter's birthday and I was already in a rush. But as delicious as they are, I won't be recommending them because of this incident (this wasn't the first time either, they did it for my baby shower as well) 1st incident, shame on them, 2nd incident, shame on me for knowing better.Just an FYI, this was a weekday! A Wednesday to be exact!! It's ridiculous that I am leaving the bakery with 36 cupcakes at 4:15pm when they should've been done at 11am. Also no proper casing for their cupcakes which they didn't tell me beforehand. That day was...

I have never tried a Dominican cake in New York City like Angela cake. It is so delicious. I been their customer for years, back when they were not even in this location. Their customer service was good until they got their clientele. I stop going because I will let them know I wanted a cake for a certain time and date and the cake was never ready but this is not the issue I know how busy they be BUT what really bothers me is the attitude the employee give you. For instance I called to place an order and I was on hold for a good 5 minutes, then I hung up and called again and they said how can I help you and once I started talking they hung up the phone, I tried reaching out again and they did not answer. I was nearby so decided to go in the store and they were not busy there was three employee in the front, one was taking care of the ONLY customer they had, and the other two were on their phone. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! as I placed my order I didn't get no confirmation she said I just needed to say what my cake look like or my name. On the Monday Afternoon when I went to pick up my cake wasn't ready and they were unable to do what I asked for. They once lost me as a customer and decided to give them one last chance and they did it again. it is a disgrace that a business that can do so much more is losing so much money because of the staff unprofessionalism and lack of communication. if the owner doesn't do something about it they will continue to lose...

First of all, I do not understand how this place has a 4.1 star review. Their customer service is incredibly bad. I have been getting cakes from this place for more than 10 years, however after this interaction I will not be returning to this establishment. I was trying to order a custom cake that I saw on their instagram. I sent the email because this is how they take orders through emails, of my complete order. The first woman said that the cake would be available on Sunday at 4PM. I explained to her that its fine since its a custom cake. I had to call back to confirm if she received the email. However, another person picked up the phone and she explains to me that no customs cake can be made to pick up on Sunday. She asks again to give her the details of the cake. This is when I tell her that it's the second time I explained the details of the cake and that the girl already has ALL my information. She then catches an attitude and starts belligerently screaming at me. Goes on to explain that she can only do regular cakes and that she doesn't have my order. I have email proof that I sent all my information TWICE to the same email. After this interaction, I told her to cancel my order. Please do not order from this place unless you want to be yelled at and told that...
