EDIT 3: Elevators broken again. Stop with the influx of 5 star reviews to cover for broken elevators once again. No one cares about free tacos when you spend an hour a day waiting for elevators
** EDIT 2: Allegedly, the building has been refusing to pay the elevator company for maintenance and repairs, so any talks about "working diligently on all repairs" is nothing more than corporate LYING to save their reputation, hence the monitoring of the reviews right now. This situation can easily be resolved rapidly, but the fact of the matter is, they don't care. It's gone so bad that tenants are grouping together to plan a lawsuit, because this is a health hazard at this point. God forbid an emergency happens and cops have to wait 30 minutes for an elevator.
Let me just give you this example to show how management is like. Elevators have been down for MONTHS. We have 4 elevators. One is reserved for maintenance and the rest is for public use. Slowly, one by one the elevators broke down till eventually ALL of them were broken and they asked us to use the stairs. This is OBVIOUSLY unreasonable to ask of those living higher up, the elderly, and those that are disabled. The stairs were also just straight up dark at some points.
It took a disaster (45-60 minutes waiting times) for them to FINALLY fix it, which took less than a day to fix, proving they could've this entire time. They just didn't care to. This was back around June. Elevator stability lasted for like a month, before in late July-now, the elevators are down ONCE again. We are down to 1/4 elevators again. Let's see how long it takes for them to fix it and remove my review.
EDIT 1: Since the response was nothing more than just disingenuous corporate gaslighting, I just want to bring up. I have lived here for many years, regardless of whether or not they can find my account based on a single name here.
I have no desire for further "discussion", because ultimately it is up to management to fix it. No amount of clarification can justify MONTHS-long service outage. The moment ALL of the elevators broke down, suddenly all of them were fixed within days, which proves fast fixtures were possible, again they just didn't care to.
I don't need emails back and forth. Tenants have posted fliers in the hallway voicing our concerns, but they were promptly removed by management. If management truly cared, why remove them?
I will say. The elevators were FINE prior to them renovating them. After renovations, the elevators have constantly either broken down or not even close fully and would require you to manually shut it. Renovations would be fine and even welcomed if they didn't essentially break what wasn't broken. No one asked for new elevators, and I could only imagine the reason for installation was to install the screen that shows...
Read moreI would strongly encourage you to not take all the 1-star reviews for this building AND this management company lightly and to look elsewhere.
The elevator problems are constant, in my 9 months here there have been only 3 months(!) without an elevator issue. The elevator issues range from only 2 out of 4 elevators being available (which has been the almost daily situation during my stay here) which means that you might wait up to 10 minutes to go to work during the morning rush hour, to only 1 elevator available (my record wait in that case was 35(!) minutes during a time that I was doing laundry) to occasionally NO elevators available for a building with 43 floors. The last one happened to me twice during August.
The management's response is at least insulting. Two of the elevators have been out since early July. After 3 weeks the management informed us that it will take them up to 6 weeks(!) to fix them. Probably they had to demolish them and rebuild them from scratch, that's the only reason I can think of to justify that timeline... Nevertheless, now we are 7 weeks after and still only one of them is fixed (which of course only happened last week, exactly at the 6 weeks deadline). It's just ridiculous.
For reference, when I was searching for an apartment I saw one in Chelsea that didn't have gas due to an ongoing construction. The broker said that I will receive a 30% rent discount for the inconvenience during the time that gas is out. I definitely consider no gas far less inconvenient than a 43-floor walk up, however the only thing that we received from the management, besides "the sincere apologies and thanks for our patience" (which none of the residents has of course) is a week of free coffee and bagels for breakfast, and no response to our emails... If this is not insulting then I don't know what is.
Honestly, look elsewhere. If you want a luxury building get an apartment somewhere where you will feel appreciated and that your rent is worth it.
As a side note, the bathrooms in this building (at least in my apartment) are not in the standard that you would expect from a...
Read moreI had the most wonderful experience living in this NYC building! From the moment I moved in, I knew I had made the right choice. The abundance of apartments and amenities available here is truly impressive. It's like living in a city within a city!
The staff is absolutely top-notch. The management team is not only professional but also incredibly friendly and accommodating. They made the entire leasing process seamless, and any concerns or inquiries were addressed promptly. It's evident that they genuinely care about their residents' well-being and happiness.
And the views! Oh, the views are simply breathtaking. Waking up to the sun rising over the skyline or watching the twinkling city lights at night became some of my favorite daily rituals. It's a true privilege to have such stunning panoramas right from the comfort of my apartment.
I must also mention the fantastic management of the building. They go above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly. The common areas are always immaculate, and any maintenance issues are promptly taken care of. It's clear that they take pride in maintaining the building and creating a wonderful living environment for everyone.
Moreover, the community within the building is fantastic. I've made some wonderful friends here and have participated in various social events organized by the building management. It really feels like a tight-knit community, and I always felt safe and welcomed.
Location-wise, it doesn't get much better than this. Being situated in the heart of NYC, I have access to an array of restaurants, shops, and entertainment options just steps away from my doorstep. The convenience of everything nearby makes life in this building incredibly enjoyable.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend this building enough. The apartments are fantastic, the staff is outstanding, the views are awe-inspiring, and the management is exemplary. If you're looking for a place to call home in NYC, look no further. You'll be as thrilled as I have been to be a...
