This establishment I believe is coming up on it's first year and I had only heard about it late last year for the first time. The concept is pizza....but not just any pizza...Korean style pizza which you would normally find in Queens.
I was certainly very happy to hear of a new Korean pizza place in Manhattan as there are very few to none. The owners picked a very fitting spot to set up shop...in the very popular area of East Village which offers a variety of fusion and Asian style food.
The name they chose for the business is a very informal way to address one's father and it kind of reminded me of a family style restaurant in that respect. But the ambience here is actually what you would expect from an EV establishment...very dynamic and super busy. The vibe here is both casual and cozy so it is good for a night out with friends and family or even a date night. There are a good amount of seats available but you have to wait to be seated. For those who are not inclined to wait and just want to order food to-go, there are convenient touch screen kiosks as you walk in to place your order!
The The food menu consists of the very popular golden crust pizza with good variety toppings and combos. These include Bulgogi with bell pepper and mushroom, Wedge potato sliced bacon, pepperoni, corn, mushroom, sour cream Sausage shrimp (onions, bell peppers, sweet chili sauce, honey mustard Coconut Shrimp (breaded shrimp, brocolli, bell pepper, coconut shred, condensed milk, balsamic glaze Kimchi bacon (kimchi base, thick cut pork belly, kimchi topping BBQ Chicken (onion, bell pepper, corn, pineapple, bbq sauce, sour cream Veggie (bell pepper, onion, corn, olive, mushroom Spicy Chicken (marinated spicy chicken sauce pineapple, pickled jalapeño Corn Cheese (mozzarella)
I was dining in solo so I opted for their special half and half deal where I got one side of corn cheese and the other side consisting of simple cubed sweet potato with peppers and onion. The corn cheese is very synonymous with Korean menus so I definitely had to order that for my initial visit.
They had a very delicious bulgogi kimchi pasta that I certainly recommend if you dine in (great for sharing).
There other menu items like loaded fries and some quesadillas which will certanly complement any meal. To wash it all down, i opted for a very refreshing lemonade.
They offer an oreo bingsoo for dessert but it was the rare time where I did not have room for dessert. But definitely something to look forward to upon my next visit. Plus all the other pizza options all sound spectacular.
Not only is the food good here but service is excellent. The place as I mentioned earlier is quite busy (especially during peak dinner hours). As I walked in I was greeted and acknowledged by a very pretty girl named Kelsey. It was busy but she manages to check on the customer and take food orders. I was a bit overwhelmed with the menu but she helped with some popular recommendations. Another employee who was very polite and helpful her co-worker Josh who brought a lot of the food over in a timely manner and also check on me.
If you go back to Appas pizza please let me know so I can help...

Today, I was shopping in Manhattan with my friends and accidentally found a Korean creative pizza shop with fresh decoration style! 🥰My friend just kept shouting for pizza, so I ran into it. After taking a bite, it was so delicious! 🥹
Its main dish is Korean-style pizza. The two of us ordered a 10-inch double pizza, and chose the [Sausage&Shrimp and Kimchi Bacon] flavor double pizza. I really strongly recommend the Sausage flavor. It was the flavor recommended by the little sister, and the taste is really good! 🍕The edges of its pizza are not hard, and the dough is very crispy and soft! The sauce is delicious, and it is really delicious with the cheese powder and chili powder in the store! You must order their super-handsome PiZZA when you go there! 😍
In addition, we also ordered [KIMCHI OVEN PASTA], which made our taste buds swell just by looking at it. It was so delicious! 🍜This noodle with burning cheese was really finished in one bite! So delicious! Recommended!
Their WINGS is also a signature dish! 😋We also ordered a combination of [Crispy and Sweet spicy]. I strongly recommend the Sweet spicy flavor. The one with all the sauces is really delicious! The taste buds swelled as soon as I took a bite, and my saliva went straight into my stomach. It was so delicious! 🥰
In addition, their cocktails and sparkling drinks are not only good-looking but also delicious! I strongly recommend [Princess Peach], which is good-looking and delicious! 🍸The fruity flavor is quite refreshing, and it goes straight to your head after one sip. It is very delicious when paired with pizza! 🤪
We also found that they have made a new move They are about to launch a new Croffle! 🧇Various fruity flavors to choose from. The manager gave us pictures, and I was drooling just looking at them! She said that it will be available next month I must come and try it next time when there are new...
Read moreComfort food of all time. Appas Pizza is our favorite spot for cheat meals. Their korean-inspired pizza and risotto stand out from other regular pizza spots. The sweet potato paste in their pizza crust is so addicitve that it lives rent free in my head.
*Half & Half Pizza I like that they allow you to choose two different toppings on your pie. If you like Buldak spicy ramyun, you’ll definitely love this flavor. It uses the Buldak sauce as the base, topped with a thick layer of cheese and spicy marinated chicken. Quite spicy but it is still manageable. The complimentary garlicky dipping sauce is very addictive.
The kimchi bacon is just okay. The sourness of kimchi doesnt really compliment with the savory taste of pizza. I prefer bulgogi topping over this.
Let’s talk about the SWEET POTATO CRUST it was for real life-changing! They piped sweet potato around the crust and rolled a half-melted cheese in between. Hey Appas owner if you see this post, please launch sweet potato cheese breadsticks so I can eat them every day!
*Bulgogi Risotto When my bf’s favorite dish from a pizza spot is not pizza. He has been praising the bulgogi risotto for the longest time and I finally tried. It is loaded with cheese, bulgogi chunks, mushroom, onion and bell pepper. It is indeed delicious but a bit too heavy for me esp after having a few slices of pizza. Better share with more people.
* Cajun Waffle Fries The fries was sprinkled with cheddar cheese and mayonnaise on the side. It tasted very mid, probably because it wasn’t piping hot and not crispy enough. I will skip their fries and try their other sides next time.
Our server suggested us to get one 10’ pie and one side dish, but we found the portion was still too filling for 2 persons. We were stuffed after eating two slices of pizza each and left the fries almost untouched (we took away the...
