Visited this Apple Bees today. I originally went there to pass some time for an appointment I had set for my dog at Petco. When I walked in I was greeted by a young man who asked me where I would like to sit. Not thinking about it at all & knowing I was by myself I chose the bar because I didnโt see the reason for me to sit in a booth if Iโm alone. When I got to the bar a young lady came to take my order. While waiting I went off to the bathroom real quick before my order had come. When I came back it took a while to get my food. The young lady was moving around doing other things & I get it. Iโm from New Orleans & worked in the hospitality industry for years before becoming a truck driver & company owner so I understand. But, I noticed the lack of urgency & concern that she had for me while sitting. Mind you I was just there to eat & leave. I literally had a $20-$25 tip with her name on it. But, as time progressed & she was busy tending to other tables without noticing me at all. I had to get my food served by the manager of the restaurant. Ok. I get it. Sheโs busy right. Cool. Understandable. But, the problem came in when I literally waited to see if she would notice that I had nothing left to drink & that my other food was taking a while to come out. It took her maybe 10-15 minutes to even acknowledge that I was still waiting. Then when I told her I just needed a refill on my drink (Which was a Pepsi) she continued whatever she was doing. Maybe 5-10 minutes later she asked the Host can he help her real quick. In which the host was actually a pretty good sport. He was the one that actually helped besides the manager. He came through with my food, to go plates & my drink. This young lady didnโt even try to take payment from me. Which is crazy. Lol. I literally had to ask the host about the payment & he told her afterwards. She finally came over to take payment. In which I paid & although I should have not left her a tip, I did anyways because it just doesnโt feel right for me to not leave anybody a tip when Iโve worked in this industry for over a decade & know that they pretty much rely on tips for their income. She could have a family at home to feed so, I wasnโt going to leave nothing. But, I would like for her to know that she missed a good tip being negligent. Sorry for the word if itโs offensive but, thatโs pretty much the energy she gave me. Meanwhile the food was good & fresh. I appreciate that & also appreciate the host & manager. Big ups to you guys. Probably wonโt be returning to this location because of so much traveling with work. But, overall Iโm disappointed with the bar tender & am happy with the manager,...

For instance, I remember going to Applebee's on a field trip as a kid when I was in PS3 and getting a coupon which my mom used multiple times throughout my childhood. Back then, the waiter always generously let my mom reuse the coupon multiple times.
Another vignette I have of my many visits to Applebee's is when they had an all you can eat buffet that included chicken tenders, fries and mozzarella sticks. I went there and had at least 6 plates of each. The waiter was mildly amused over the whole episode. Eventually, after about 6 hours, I vomited at least half of what I ate. Either way I don't regret eating that much even to this day. Oddly, the act of vomiting actually felt somewhat satisfying, if not unburdening; as if I was firing a laser from my mouth that got rid of all of the bloat and dead weight in my body.
Furthermore, I want to give a shoutout to the waitress that gave me a free dessert because all of my friends ordered one but me. It was an act of unmitigated kindness that I treasure from the bottom of my heart. It's been at least a few years since it happened but I'll still never forget such a generous and charitable act.
As for the food, I find it on average that the portions are small but taste very good. This observation is of course based what I get there. The mozzarella sticks at Applebees are especially delicious and probably my favorite option when it comes to mozzarella sticks. One tip about handling Applebee's portions is to always get the 2 for 20(Or whatever it is now, 24?) as the individual orders are overpriced and give portions that are anemic compared to other restaurants. As a result, it's your best chance of getting a fair price compared to other restaurants.
Ultimately, Applebee's is a restaurant that gives food that tastes very good albeit overpriced food.
Here's a picture of the chicken tenders and fries order just to give you an idea of just how paltry the...
ย ย ย Read moreI gave this Applebee's 4 stars because 1st off, I live on the North Shore & I personally don't like driving ALL THE WAY TO THE SOUTH SHORE!!๐ต. Yes, I grew up on the South Shore mostly all my life. BUT, I met up with my mother for lunch. Anyway, when we walked in we were asked for our vaccine cards. Well done! Inside the place, it was not warm as probably most ppl would have liked. Outside was very windy and cold that day. Another reason for the 4 stars. The waitress was professional and out going. We got the onion rings appetizer & they were overly well done. Actually, we could only eat half of the onion ring because they were so over cooked. Or just under their red lights TOO long. Otherwise, our main meal was fine. NOT burnt, which was pleasant. I have to say, I did have to look for our waitress more than once, but every time I found her she was on point to get what we needed. The prices were fine, NOT pricey I mean come on it's Applebees. The only thing I felt bad for was my mother. She was very uncomfortable because she said, "she was cold & had a chill in her bones." (She's 81) Overall, SORRY to say ppl NO crazy emojis in this review. Just a 4 star here for me & my mother. I'm sure if the place had the heat higher and our onions rings weren't burnt there would of been 5 stars.
