When the vegan pizza finally arrived it was delicious! Unfortunately the online ordering system Slice with Relay is an absolute abomination. My 1 medium pizza order was placed at 11:54 PM, according to Slice, it was on the way and to be delivered at 12:39 AM. I'm down in my hotel lobby, waiting for a call or anything, at 12:50 AM I discover this Relay courier that slice has handed off has their own tracking system. Their system says the order is still pending at the restaurant... I contact their support, a courier has not been sent to the restaurant because the pizza hasn't been marked ready. He advises me to reach out to slice or the restaurant, I reach out to Slice who establishes contact with the restaurant... My pizza hasn't even been made yet and now its 1 AM on a Thursday, slice/restaurant says it'll be ready in 30 minutes or I can cancel for a refund. Cancel for a refund isn't an option now, the vegan food options are very limited at this time of night. With little hope, I proceed with my order, it's ready at 1:30 AM and the Relay courier gets it to me in roughly 10-15 minutes. Overall while delicious, the restaurant and its online ordering partners dropped the ball multiple times.

Why is Slice saying the pizza is ready? when it hasn't even been put in the oven? Why is the restaurant not correcting the order status if its some automated system based on average order length? Why is the integration between Slice and Relay so inadequate?

In the old days, this order would've been comped by the management due to the delay and how bad the communication was. The technology restaurants have available to them should make all of it far easier than it was years ago. It astounds me such a bad experience can tarnish such a high quality...

Artistic Pizza is a tiny pizzeria on West Third, close to Sixth Avenue. there are a few seats by the window. the space is fairly clean and organized. there are a variety of pies on display. there’s not a lot of interior space, so most people grab n go. there’s a small fridge filled with soft drinks.

the pizza here is kinda average—not bad, not great. Artistic Pizza basically feeds NYU students, drunken bar goers, and hungry folks looking for a bite. went here two different times—got a plain slice the first time. the plain slice is okay/good, doesn’t travel well, the sauce errs on the sweet side, it’s covered in melty mozzarella, and the the crust is airy and soft (no crispness). the second time, i got a Margherita slice—sauce is fairly sweet, the blobs of mozzarella were soft and melty, the crust was airy and had a a little crispness to it. the slices are cut kinda small imo. didn’t mind the smaller size on the plain slice bc it is a $2 + tip but the Margherita is like $4.50 + tip for a pretty small piece. maybe they make smaller pies but they don’t seem to be the normal 18” NYc pies. the other issue is i don’t think the pizza oven gets hot enough bc even when the slice are reheated there is no crisp firmness to the crust.

the staff is really nice and friendly. i wished the pizza was better bc their upbeat-ness...

I’m so happy to find this place. They have varieties of vegan pizzas. I’ve been looking for non dairy pizzas in NYC while I was visiting. The price is about the same as the regular dairy pizza. The vegan pizza tastes just like regular dairy pizza. I can’t even tell the difference between the regular dairy and non dairy pizzas. The place is very small. There’s a small space in the corner to eat inside the restaurant. You can also eat at the patio but there’s only 1 table available if I’m not mistaken. It’s a typical NY thin crust pizza but it’s non dairy and just as good as dairy pizza. I wasn’t lactose intolerant in the past, I used to eat dairy pizzas. As I get older, I become more sensitive to dairy. They also have gluten free pizzas. They have just everything (dairy, vegan, and gluten free). I highly recommend this place. Good price and very tasty vegan pizzas 🍕if you order online directly on their website instead of through Grubhub you can get 10% discount because Grubhub is a rip off! It makes sense the code for the coupon is...

I visited Artistic Pizza on 10/14/22 with really high hopes. In order of fav to least: 1. pepperoni - loads of flavor 2. margherita - tasty, but really greasy 3. buffalo chicken - the vegan chicken was really chewy and I didn't like the white sauce. *all vegan I liked the cook of the pizza; crispy bottom, soft dough. the vegan cheese was okay. I've had better, I've had worse. the pizza sauce could have a bit more flavor. the crust was perfection! overall it was good, but definitely room for improvement. Also, these slices were expensive. For these 3 + a can of Diet Coke it came out to about $18.
