There is nothing wrong with Bacan, you can feel there is a lot of good intentions behind the restaurant, it just somehow feels a little chaotic.

Service was friendly from the start, the waitress was helpful in navigating the different options and we ordered a lot of small plates.

Decoration is minimal with mostly white walls and a few posters. The tables are too small to accommodate both serving plates, wine, water and the dishes. And since they tend to bring everything at the same time, it quickly becomes awkward to eat as you manage table real estate.

The standout dish was the fritto misto: it came out piping hot, well seasoned and one the best batter we have eaten all year. Bravo 👏

The suppli came in lukewarm which somehow tampered our enthusiasm for the dish but the taste was really good.

Both the chicory salad and the agridolce toast were beautifully paired, the taste was awesome in both cases. Overall, good price/quality ratio on food.

Service was somehow chaotic, different people serving us felt a little impersonal, dishes coming all at the same time and too small of a table. Still positive but room for improvement to smooth out the service. Personnel seemed completely overwhelmed.

Recommended if you are in the area.

Very cute ambiance & great availability to get a table (which is a huge plus these days). Service was friendly & attentive.

The food was lacking in our opinion for the price. The oysters ($21 for half dozen) came out sitting on a plate with zero ice... which neither of us have never experienced before and question the safety of - they also taste better chilled so I'm not sure why they chose to serve them this way. If you had them sitting on your table for a while, it could become dangerous (the bacteria multiply very quickly at room temp).

Both pasta dishes we had were good - portion sizes a bit on the smaller side. Nothing crazy memorable, didn't taste handmade to us (but isn't described as such on the menu). Perfectly fine, but not really worth the price in our opinion.

Cute place, but I think there are much stronger alternatives at this price point so it was a bit of a letdown overall. Would definitely avoid the oysters unless they start serving on...

Had the best meal here 2 weekends in a row! The spicy vodka sauce is hands down the BEST vodka sauce I’ve ever had (and it’s my favorite sauce so I get it a lot). The pesto was similarly fantastic - so herbaceous and fresh! The eggplant parm was mind blowing and also the best my partner and I have ever had, and he orders it everywhere! We loved that it wasn’t fried. It just melted in our mouths, and the marinara sauce was so flavorful! The chicory salad, tiramisu, and cocktails were similarly on point. The service was incredible both times! I had jaw surgery a few weeks ago and am on a “no chew” diet so I requested my pasta be overcooked, and both times they were so accommodating and also checked in to make sure it came out good for me. Tonight the new manager, Luis, noticed me massaging my jaw and asked if I wanted ice to apply to my face. So incredibly thoughtful! Bacàn has earned its place on our...
