Eight of Swords Tattoo — Attraction in New York

This review is to make people aware of the designing methods used by some tattooers that are not exactly artists. I got an appointment 3 months in advance at Eight of Swords with ZoeBean. I met with her before to talk about my tattoo design and the process, so I trusted her experience and judgment. The day of the tattoo went well, it didn't hurt too bad and I felt comfortable with her. The experience became bad when I found out that she basically traced my tattoo from an image she found online. The tattoo looks pretty much the same, except for few differences that make it look like a copy poorly done. When I realized this I told her that this seemed like a copy to me, and she made up a concept of plagiarism as a response: "is a unique take from a classic" (interesting!!). In my opinion, if this was the case, I would expect her to show me the source of her "inspiration" instead of taking full credit for the "design". I have been a customer of Guy Ursitti and Eight of Swords Tattoo for several years now. I am extremely happy with all of my tattoos from Guy and at how business is conducted there as well. The staff and owner are extremely friendly and welcoming, and are all very professional. I have never had any issues with payments, cancellations, or with anything there at all for the matter.

I would highly recommend this shop to anyone as there are many talented artists there, able to service a variety of styles to accommodate different needs. I look forward to continue doing business with Guy and Eight of Swords for many years to come!

This shop was awesome. My artist was Eva Huber and she absolutely nailed my design based off a typed description of what I wanted accompanied by an extremely rough sketch that I sent her. The pricing was incredibly low and fair considering the quality of work that I received and the atmosphere was awesome. It was extremely clean and socially comfortable, and had an overall homey vibe (complete with a resident cat). As far as Eva goes, she was remarkably pleasant to interact with and I would 100% return again and again for more work from her. She put incredible detail into my tattoo and I am eternally grateful!
