Update - Upon my return to the Big Apple months later, I went back for dinner to celebrate my mother's 75th birthday. Even at 9:30pm the place was nicely packed and the same amazing jazz jam was playing. We started off by ordering a bottle of wine from their small but we'll thought off wine list, and a couple orders of Escargot. The escargots were nice , but butter could have been a little more seasoned to my liking. I followed off with their Mescluns salad which was perfectly seasoned, and Steak au Poivre with frites for main course. The sauce on the steak was just perfect. For dessert Tarte Tatin and Creme Brulee finished off this incredible meal. The gracious and beautiful owner Soraya took excellent care of us through the evening. This is a place not be missed and I can't wait to return upon my next trip to NYC.

This bistro brought me back to my roots in France. We arrived on a Thursday night with a jazz band playing. They were playing just loud enough for a comfortable conversation. We had made reservations but it seemed like it might have been a lighter night. Escargots were good but underseasoned. The special clam in lemon butter appetizer was exquisite. My friend ordered the Salade Niçoise and couldn't stop making compliments. My Steak au Poivre was cooked to perfection and sauce was incredible. Great house fries to complement it. Both cocktails and wines were on part.Service was Courteous and professional. Overall an incredible experience and I would recommend Bistro So to anyone wanting an...

My wife and I ate at Bistro So last night around 7pm. I will start this review with the positives. The ambience was wonderful, the service was great and the fries were delicious. We shared the beef tartare topped with a raw quail egg, and she had the oysters by herself. Unfortunately, around 10pm she started feeling sick and we rushed home. We couldn’t get home fast enough and she became violently ill from food poisoning in the car on the drive home. Once home, she spent several hours sick in the bathroom and even chose to sleep in the kitchen to be close by. We’ve both had food poisoning before and it was the worst I have ever seen. I called the restaurant this evening to inform the manager of what happened so they could look into their food safety, and was clear we weren’t trying to gain anything from this situation, we just didn’t want anyone else getting sick. The manager (a woman whose name I didn’t get) was not at all concerned and was adamant that my wife did not get food poisoning from their restaurant, claiming that you don’t see symptoms until a day after exposure, which is untrue (you can become ill after as little as 30 minutes of exposure) and assured me that their food is incredibly fresh and wouldn’t even consider the possibility that she got sick from one of the three raw dishes she consumed. We weren’t going to leave a negative review as long as the restaurant agreed to simply look into the situation but their lack of concern and accountability deemed...

TLDR: awesome food & amazing vibes, come here for brunch, dinner and everything in between. Jazz nights are on Thursday and it’s awesome fun!

I was so disappointed when Pâtes & Traditions closed their doors, so you can imagine my excitement when I heard one of the owners was opening a new restaurant on Driggs street!

Bistro So is fav spot in Williamsburg for brunch, dinner or if you just fancy a drink before you need to head somewhere else!

The owner is so welcoming and always very attentive.

My first experience here was coming for brunch where I enjoyed the frenchy burger, it was cooked perfectly and was the best burger I’ve had in New York. Friends all enjoyed their brunch options which I’ve included pics of. We also shared the Camembert which was delish.

The next time we came was for a dinner on a Thursday night and our surprise/delight, there was a live jazz night! It made for such a fun and exciting vibe but could also still hear conversations with your friends. I can’t remember what my dish was called it was delicious and very filling.

We came again yesterday and sat out the front with a cocktail, it was great people watching! Can’t wait to come...
