Stay away. A long time ago, I was a teenager and took a train ride all the way to this inconvenient place holding 2 huge bags worth of clothes hoping to get some money back. I stood on line for 2 hours and when it was finally my turn, they dug through everything I had and only took 1 pair of earrings which were actually partially broken anyway. They gave me back $4 which was enough to take the train home. They go by whatever they think is trendy (which they never specified when I called before going). I still went inside to shop and the place smelled dirty and dusty. Then I came back here again a few years ago and everything is still overpriced and expensive even for fast-fashion brand stuff. Crazy. After so many years passed, nothing changed and I'm sure if I donated those clothes I tried to donate years ago, they'd be begging me for it because the stuff is back in style. Shop anywhere else but here. I was so upset that I complained to Buffalo Exchange directly. An older woman responded to me and I believe she may have been around for years running Buffalo Exchange. She said that their mission was to provide affordable second-hand, not some hipster-gentrifier-driven resale market at retail prices. It's very sad to see that the once family-owned and women-driven business is being dragged to a whole different attitude down here...

THE MOST UNWELCOMED THRIFT SHOP IâVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. RUDE STAFF. SMELLS HORRIBLE. THEY WASTED MY TIME AND MONEY TO GO TRY TO SELL MY CLOTHES FOR THE FIRST TIME TO SAY THAT THEY ONLY WANT TRENDY CLOTHES. FIRST OF ALL THEY SHOULD MENTION EXACTLY WHAT THEY LOOKING BEFORE I WENT AND TO THE PEOPLE AS WELL. WHICH IS HIPPIE TRENDY STYLE. WHAT IS SO HARD TO MENTION WHAT YOU GUYS EXACTLY LOOKING FOR OVER THE PHONE AND IN THE WEBSITE. NEVER IN MY LIFE I LEFT FROM A THRIFT SHOP CRYING BECAUSE THE UNWELCOME PRESENCE, THE LOOKS, THE CHATTING IN THE EAR WITH OTHER STAFF QUIETLY IN MY FACE, THEY ALSO SEEM TO DISCRIMINATE BY HOW YOU LOOK, DRESS OR YOUR RACE THAT DISRESPECTFULLNESS IRRITATED ME SO BAD THAT I LITERALLY LEFT CRYING WITH MY TWO HEAVY BAGS OF CLOTHES OF 100 PCS. ENDED UP SELLING NOTHING. THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE OF 2022 I CAN SAY. I DONâT RECOMMEND NO ONE TO SELL CLOTHES HERE OR GO THROUGH THE SAME AS ME. IF I SHOULD OF RECORDED WHAT HAPPENED. I WOULD OF DEMANDED THIS PLACE. JUST STAY AWAY FROM TRYING TO SELL. THEY ARE FRAUDULENT AS WELL. WILL BARELY GIVE YOU MONEY. TRY FINDING ANOTHER THRIFT SHOP OR DONATE TO THOSE PEOPLE WHO REALLY NEEDS IT. AGAIN, DONâT GO OR TRY TO SELL YOUR CLOTHES, YOU...
Read moreThis particular Buffalo Exchange is certainly a charming one. It's a few blocks away from the Bedford Av train stop, and the layout is certainly an interesting one. You enter the store and immediately see an open-layout store, allowing you to get a look of everything from any side of the store. Upon walking up a little set of stairs to meet the store's level, you are almost instantly greeted by friendly "Buyers", the employees that are in charge of buying the clothes that customers bring in to sell. Every section of clothes in the store is labeled by a sign on the top of the circular rack stating whether they're "Dresses", "Tank Tops", "Pants", and so on. The men's clothes are on one side, while the women's are on the other side. It's needless to say that great music will always be playing at any thrift store, and what's special here is that usually, the dressing room attendants, or any employee busy organizing racks, will usually be humming along or tapping their foot to the song. It's a pleasing and relaxing place to shop at, and the clothes are always interesting to look at. Every day brings new finds, and prices are absolutely GREAT. Let me repeat that. Prices are absolutely GREAT. Shopping here is a must, it's hard to imagine anyone being disappointed...
