Blaze Bar & Grill — Restaurant in New York

We wanted to give a new place a chance. Only had a salad w shrimp and jerk chicken. I have a lot of dietary limits and rely on veggies and salad items. I would not recommend this place for a garden salad. Though fresh, just iceberg lettuce. No cucumbers. Only bottled dressing. They did make a little oil and vinegar Mix but it was tasteless and a very tiny amount. The grilled shrimp were tasty though. Nicely spiced. The jerk chicken was room temp, not nice steamy hot. Portion on the small side. Half a drumstick? A neck? Only part of thigh? The veggies were great. Peas and rice, nice. Desert was presented beautifully though on the small side. We wish them loads of luck. I wish I could have tried the Mac n cheese but can’t eat like that. If u love Jamaican food prob worth a try. I don’t think they should bother w salads. Not a strong point. Their take out biz seems booming. To fill the tables and have a greater appeal? Brighten the place up w more color, better sound system, wait staff would do better to smile and be a bit more welcoming. We were given check w/o being asked if we wanted dessert or anything more. Kind of dismissive. ...

I always like to try new places in the area. I admire when a new venture is explored. This place is located near the ferry which is good. It definitely has the right idea! If you’ve ever been to Jamaica you know the food is fresh and you’ve got to wait. So please know it is the same here. Food is fresh, tasty and shrimps were fresh. I ordered the shrimp curry which was a great version! I also ordered the salt fish fritters. Everything was really good. The prices are a bit high but so is the price of food. It’s a great addition to Staten Island! So if you’re in the mood for some Jamaican food I would say yes...

First let me say, we were so excited when we discovered that Blaze had a bar and grill. This is our reliable go to spot. The appitizers are 💯 AMAZING!!! The acki and salt fish egg rolls, I want to eat those for the rest of my life. And those Crab cakes, Im still trying to figure out how all that flavor worked its way into those cakes. Finally, the Blaze Punch was 🔥🔥🔥.

As for the actual bruch meal itself.... Im going to hold my opinion on that one because the appitizers and drinks...
