I had a great time at Raval on a super busy Saturday night. I remembered seeing their cool Instagram videos and decided to check them out. They were fully committed and it was 9:30, with a closing time of 10:00pm so we had to settle for bar seating. But it turned out to be a great choice!
The place had a great vibe. The decor was beautiful, and the wall of wine bottles separating the bar from the dining area was really cool. The playlist was perfect, and the ambiance was great.
Our bartender was amazing. He gave us recommendations on what wine to get based on what we were going to order and even helped us with our dining order. His recommendations were spot-on, and everything we ordered was delicious.
We usually go into the city when we want to visit a steakhouse, but we're so glad we found this hidden gem on Staten Island.
The bread service was 10/10, the bread was perfectly toasted and came out warm and the garlic bread they served with it was amazing. I usually pass on bread but this one shouldn't be skipped! The Australian wagyu we shared was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. The sauce it came with was great, and the fries we ordered were perfectly cooked and crunchy.
The grilled chili shrimp we paired it with was also delicious. He gave us a tip to dip the steak into the broth, and it was a game-changer! The homemade spaghetti cacio e Pepe was also super tasty.
We were surprised with a carrot cake in the end that we had no idea we needed!! It was the perfect close to an amazing meal! Overall, it was a 10/10 experience. I'll definitely be making a reservation so we can explore the menu and tell everyone I know...
Read moreIF YOU WANT BLAND FOOD BUT EXCELLENT SERVICE YOURE AT THE RIGHT PLACE. Food- I ordered dry aged porterhouse for 2. Didn't taste like was dry aged. Dry aged is supposed to be naturally flavourful. All they put on the steak was salt sprinkled on top. The steak tasted like nothing. I asked for sauces (struggled to ask because I know chefs take it very offensive when you ask for steak sauce and also due to the excellent service) The sauces were gross I ended up using only salt. Due to the salt not being cooked with the steak I was biting salt crystals and just gave me the ick for my entire meal. (300$ worth of food) The portion was NOT for 2 grown adults. Maybe 1 adult and 1 child. It was so bad that it was obvious the chef had a hard time cooking it. The meat was not tender it was so chewy. Most of the sides were also BLAND that is why I refused to get the food re made because I wasn't going to risk my night being ruined even more.
Service- The service was SO TOP NOTCH that It made me feel GUILTY for even expressing how I felt.
Ambiance- For "fine dining" I was so surprised how loud it was. It was also way too dark in there. It felt like I was eating at a club. There was a birthday party going on and there was kids crying.
I spent a good amount of money to Uber to this place. 2 hours on bus and 3 transfers to get back to my hotel. Not to mention I came all the way from California and tonight was my LAST night here and it completely ruined my wife and Is date. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
If youre only seeking for good service and a drink this is your spot. As a foodie that's tried Michelin grade steaks THIS IS...
Read moreMy husband, nieces and I recently dined at Raval Steakhouse on Staten Island, and we can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we walked in, the staff treated us like family, making the entire experience warm and memorable.
The ambiance is absolutely beautiful, with a classy yet inviting vibe that sets the tone for an exceptional meal. The quality of the food is incredible, especially given the reasonable pricing—it’s rare to find such a perfect combination of value and excellence.
We started with the shrimp cocktail, which was perfectly chilled and fresh, and their original grilled Caesar salad, which was crisp, flavorful, and perfectly dressed. For appetizers, the chili shrimp stood out, packed with bold and balanced flavors.
For the main course, the porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor—paired with creamy, indulgent creamed spinach and their velvety pureed mashed potatoes, which were absolutely divine.
The drinks were as impressive as the food. My husband had a smoked old fashioned, prepared tableside—a unique and captivating concept that added a wonderful touch of flair and flavor to the experience. I couldn’t resist their signature coconut espresso martini, which was the perfect indulgent way to end the meal.
To finish off the night, the carrot cake was a phenomenal dessert choice—moist, decadent, and just the right amount of sweetness.
The amazing service truly stood out, making us feel valued, respected, and like part of the family. If you’re looking for a high-quality dining experience on Staten Island, Raval Steakhouse is the place to go. We can’t wait...
