I stayed here for a week for my birthday 7th - 14th sept. All of the reception staff were friendly and very helpful. Check in was simple and no waiting as previous people had stated. We had to take our own luggage to our rooms, this may be a problem for some people. There was no offer of help but I assume if you ask they may oblige. I had a double room with an amazing view on the 24th floor of the Empire State Building (I think it was Rm 2408). The room was an ok size for NY. I would’ve loved a room that was a bit bigger but I assume you would have to pay a lot more for that. The beds were very comfortable but my pillows kept dropping down the back of the headboard. I was given a card & a little gift bag for my birthday - Thank you so much, it was greatly appreciated. These little touches mean a lot. The shower was good and had great water pressure. Pls note that you should turn the shower head towards the wall before turning it on or it will freeze you. The toilet is massive by UK standards😂 The ac made the room really cold. Excellent if it’s really hot. I was a bit chilly in the evenings & asked for a couple of blankets. At first I was given extra towels & then I was given the blankets that I asked for. Not really a problem just miscommunication. There was a bit of noise, late at night & early in the morning but you’re in NY, suck it up!😊 House keeping came every day, if you didn’t need them to clean you just had to put a sign on the door. In the mornings you had to wait a short time for the lifts as maintenance etc were also using the lifts. I saw a little shop by the side of reception which I used on occasions but I didn’t realise & wasn’t told that they had a breakfast room. I saw it on the day I was leaving as it’s next to the luggage storage. I wish I had known it was there. I definitely would have used it. It looked really nice. They also do a 1 hour complimentary late check out, if availability is good. Sadly, I wasn’t able to get it. They organised a taxi when I was leaving. I was told that it was US85 but was charge US95. Not a big problem but prices should be accurate or explained if additional cost may apply. To summarise- I love your hotel. It’s in a great location with great staff. As soon as I’ve saved up enough, I will definitely stay with you again. Thank you Hilton Garden Inn

We recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn on W. 35th St. in Manhattan, and we couldn't be happier with our choice! The location is simply unbeatable. Just a short walk from Penn Station, we found it incredibly easy to navigate the city with public transportation right at our fingertips. The area is bustling with life, filled with a fantastic array of restaurants, food carts, and shopping options with Macys a stone throw away. Being so close to Madison Square Garden and the iconic Empire State Building was a real treat. In fact, we were lucky enough to have a room with a stunning view of the Empire State Building – it made for some unforgettable moments! As for the rooms, they are standard for a Hilton Garden Inn, which means they are on the smaller side (as expected in NYC), but they were impeccably clean and well-maintained. The amenities were average, but that didn’t detract from our experience. One thing to note is that while the hotel doesn't have a full-fledged restaurant, the breakfast option they offered was quite good, albeit a bit different from the typical Hilton Garden Inn spread. There’s also a bar that operates during the week, though it’s closed on weekends, which was a slight letdown for us. The outdoor seating area looked cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing moment between adventures. We also appreciated the gym in the basement, which allowed us to keep up with our fitness routines. Plus, the pantry near the front desk was stocked with all sorts of goodies for snacks and essentials. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, making our stay all the more enjoyable. Given how busy the hotel was, we were impressed by how well they managed everything. They even arranged a car service to pick us up for our flight. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn on W. 35th St. and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and conveniently located spot in the heart of Manhattan!

The most horrifying and unpleasant staff ever come across. I stayed there twice in last 10 days the first time I checked in and I requested for an early checkin -in which was offered to me at price and which I agreed and paid. Unfortunately the other reception person named Ms Tameika was soo rude and blamed her colleague Amy for giving early checkin at a low price. We laughed and ignored as we were tired after a 16 hour long flight. This was at 6.30 and we were told to come back at 9 even after paying, on our return we were told the room being given has no view as such and we cannot show you the room also and we cannot change the room later as well, the tone of Amy was also very harsh and sounding as if she was doing us a favour even though we were paying. I fail to understand that why the room cant be shown as she said if we take you inside the room to show we will have to do housekeeping again, how ridiculous is it ? Nevertheless we were tired so agreed for all her conditions and took the room at 9:30 am. ||||Room had no kettle no coffee mugs, understandable may be the hotel policy||||When we were in the room suddenly there is a knock and by the time I could realise a knock the housekeeping opened the room for housekeeping, very strange we just checked in and they dont have the data. ||||Checkin 2 - We reached again early morning and requested for an early checkin and as soon as we asked for that Ms Tameika started off soo rudely, which was uncalled for and was very very rude. We said okay, we are ready to pay for the same to calm her down and was not asking it for free. She then stated, no even that day the we gave early checkin at a very cheap rate dont expect to get that again and we have rooms even if you pay, if you want early checkin book one night before and she went on and on to teach us like we were some school children entering a hostel. She kept stressing that that 3:30 is the check in time, nothing before and she just didn't change her tone even when we were a returning client. So we went out in the city and came back at 3:30 PM. ||||We wanted to leave the luggage at the clock room for that also the bell boy / incharge said you will be charged, this is also strange when you are stying in the same hotel how can you be charged for luggage storage, we have been all over the world never ever that is happened.||||When we went to collect our bags at 3:30 pm, some very rude attendant was there who just shouted and said you do realise you need to tip us since we kept your bags right, so we told him no we already paid the front desk 2 days ago for these bags we had stored. But he said no you must tip us very rudely. We understand how tipping works and we would have happily tipped him, but with that tone and behaviour we were not really happy but paid still paid him after the not so pleasant experience at check in anyway. ||||||The two staff members (Tameika & Amy) had the most rude, arrogant, unplseant and disgusting way of communicating with their guests. I thought maybe being a budget chain the hotel hires unprofessional and untrained staff. We would look for time when these 2 girls were not at the reception as I did not want to spoil my visit and day talking to them. ||||Contrary to the experience with Amy & Tameika we met Kim & Tony on our last Day and they were totally the opposite of the previous 2 staffs, they were helpful polite and smiling. There I could understand that rudeness and unpleasant behaviour is their habit. ||||Apart from these two we did not experience anyone in our entire visit such rude and arrogant people.||||I will like to thanks Tony & Kim personally for talking to us politely.||||In short I will say look for other properties in the area as Tameika and Amy are the ones who are at the reception most of the time, they were seen fighting and arguing with other guests as well. One of the guest said that we will not give a good review the girl at the reception said we dont need your review. How rude is that, it clearly shows that this hotel does not welcome thrusts, they forget that the guests at the hotel are paying for their stay and are not staying on the compliments of the staff...

I just returned from a 6 night stay at this hotel.  I stayed here last August and gave 5 stars - would have given 10 out of 10 if I could have.  Both times I got the1 King Bed with Cityview room.   Everything about my room this time was sadly half the size as last time.  Last time I was on floor 31 with a view of the ESB.  This time I was on floor 25 with a view of factories and smoke.  Where  was the  -  Enjoy a sweeping city view of New York City skyline --they advertise.    I was fine without the ESB but this was sad.||The last stay room was a good size with a chair and floor lamp with ample room to use the luggage rack out in the room.  This time stay no chair and only a little stool hidden away and no room for the luggage rack at all. Last time I had a really nice closet with a wooden door.  At first I thought this room had no closet for it was made of very thin white plastic and blended into the wall.  It was less than half the size of my closet last time and falling apart.  I arrived with really bad snowy/rain weather and no place to put my wet clothes.  Last time my tv had a channel guide on it and this time none so every time I turned on the tv I had to scroll for something.||Now I am not an overweight guy but this room was so small for the first two days I bumped into everything. I stayed here for 6 nights and the room was so claustrophobic.  I let the front desk know my thoughts when I checked in and they said they could move me to another room the next day which I appreciated. But I needed to unpack my medicines, work supplies and would be at meetings all the next day so that would not work.  I am a Hilton Honors member and never was that acknowledged.  The staff was pretty pleasant and helpful but other than the two waters I was quietly handed you would never know I was a HH member.||Next I know how the floor plan works at this hotel and the day before my visit when I could pick a room I was given the option to pick myself or let the hotel do it.  Sadly I thought if the hotel picked it would be the best room.  Not the case.  When I was there I was able to see one of the rooms I could have picked and it was what I wanted and same as last time in set-up.  Now being here 6 nights and having two days of horrendous weather just amplified how small my room was as I layed clothes on the bed, put them on hangers and hung them on the bathroom door.|  |Now there are positives.  The beds are comfortable, bathroom is awesome, you get a microwave, fridge and coffee maker.  Also the elevators worked great and the location of this hotel is prime.  Had this been my first stay I would never return but based on my first experience I would but I would do everything in my power to make sure I got the set up I desire.  If you are on for a lengthy stay and pick  a King Bed with City View room DO NOT allow them to give you room 2502.   It is very tiny and not meant for a long stay at all and...

Picked this hotel for the price for the week and based on it being central to sites such as Empire State Building and close to Penn Station.

Hotel is about 7 minute walk from Penn Station which is convenient that being said we arrived on a day it was pouring rain so 7 minute walk felt like eternity and can make a difference if you are dragging luggage in the street.

Outside the hotel is a subway stop that connects to all the main lines which was convenient. Every day step out of the hotel and onto the subway super easy.

Hotel lobby small has a convenience store that is self serve containing snacks and personal items if you forgot to bring. Not cheap but great that it’s available. Small bar and small restaurant inside. We did not get a free breakfast which was too bad and i think price wasn’t justified to get it with great options around. Previous reviews I read said breakfast not really worth it.

Check in process very fast. I will note even though I prepaid for the room I still had to give a 250 deposit which was returned on check out.

Room was standard 2 double beds. I shared with others and was comfortable. We needed extra pillows and towels and staff brought items up in minutes which was great. Cleaners cleaned every morning. I will make a tiny note one of the pillow cases were soiled and it wasn’t changed for 2 days which was odd so not sure if the bedsheets were changed each day but room was cleaned and fresh towels provided so I was fine. Iron hair dryer available. No on-site laundry which normally I wouldn’t care but first day soaking wet due to rain so it would have been nice if it was available.

Hotel is next to Hampton Inn and next to several Korean restaurants which we tried and were great. Hotel is walking distance to all major sight seeing places and of course subway.

Outside street vendors also available for bagels coffee etc. first time downtown New York I found it convenient. Note throughout downtown core lots of drug addicts so you might feel alarmed- no one bothered us so we were fine but just to note people are outside this hotel and throughout the streets in general. I travelled late at night and I seemed to be fine.

Streets are noisy and if you want peace and quiet we could hear horns beeping even on 23rd floor. So higher is better if you are sensitive to noise. We had a view facing Empire State Building which was amazing.

Lobby and elevators have sanitizers which was great and we felt safe.

Overall loved the hotel and would stay again. It’s not super cheap compared to outskirts of city but for convince price...
