Wow! Talk about a perfect night out!
I came here last night with my best friend for a pre-theater meal to celebrate her birthday. We had a little difficulty finding the restaurant but we soon found out it was on the 8th floor of the Marriott Marquis Hotel.
The hostess that sat us was very polite and we were stoked when we saw the view we had from our table! It felt like we were on TRL!
We shared the mussels, baked Mac n cheese and short rib. LORDY was everything delicious!! The mussels were in this super creamy curry broth that was so scrumptious that we ordered the focaccia appetizer just so we had something to sop up all that yummy goodness! The baked Mac and cheese was seasoned beautifully with delicious breadcrumbs and the short rib just fell off the bone!
We then ordered the special ice cream sundae and once again we were blown away by how amazing everything tasted. This thing had mini crème brulé cheesecakes sitting on top of strawberry shortcake...you would think we didn't have any room left in our stomachs, but we made sure not to waste a bite!
Our server James and all the support staff were incredibly kind and helpful. James even gave my friend a special take-home dessert, free of charge, for her birthday. It's that attention to detail I really appreciate in a dining experience.
I will 1000% be back and will sing this restaurant's praises to...
Read moreWe ate here a couple times during our trip to NYC, partly because it was in our hotel and convenient for late night snacking. Each time the service was great. The main courses were decent, but a little better than what we have come to expect from most hotel restaurants. My wife ordered a Burger medium rare, it came out a little on the dry side, but still flavorful. The “NY Style” pizza was soggy, but surprised my taste buds with the first bite of the aged pepperoni. The chewy crust and flavor saved it. If you’re looking for the stereotypical NY slice, this is not it, other than being a slice of pizza in New York. However it was better than other pizzas I had during our visit. Where this place went from decent to Wow was the dessert. The chocolate ice cream Sunday with pieces of brownie was awesome. It was so good, that’s what had me going twice this trip. After the first time, I found myself thinking about it the next day. Overall I would rate the food 3 to 4, but factoring in the friendly staff, good cocktails, amazing desert, and nice scenic views to relax to, I give it a 5. Next time I’m in NYC, I’ll go back if I’m staying at the Marriott Marquise. Thanks for the...
Read moreThe ambiance was the only good thing about this place. The views were amazing but not the cost of terrible food. We arrived at 8:45 and even though it wasn't busy we still waited 20 minutes before anyone came over to take even our drink orders. Then we immediately ordered a pizza. The pizza only came out after waiting another 40 minutes, and flagging down the waiter. Meanwhile other guests who arrived some time after us had received their pizza already. The pizza then came out cold and hard as a rock. After informing the waiter he told the manager and they brought us a new pizza 20 minutes later. Once again this pizza was bad. Since the manager never checked in with us I then went up to the manager myself to inform him how bad our experience was and how bad the pizza was for a 2nd time. He seemed to not care and said he would let the staff know while barely paying any attention to me or what I was saying. Paid over a hundred dollars for cold and hard pizza we didn't even eat and couldn't even get an acknowledgment or get it taken off our bill. Save the trouble and go to a 99cent pizza place for a better experience...
