I'm very glad they opened up another location in midtown and visited before it got too popular .

I visited their original location at Union Square multiple times. This place has the same tasty and tantalizing gelato but very mediocre service. I would go to the original location as no matter how busy it gets, the staff would still patiently let you sample and introduce their best selling flavors to you. At this location, on the other hand, you'll find impatient staff yelling at each group and rush them to make decisions.

Now back to the gelato: they are very creamy and rich. I love that they have mix-ins and so many subtly distinct flavors. But to be honest they definitely look better than they taste. The toppings you see on those gelato mountains behind the glass look appealing but they only came in a trivial amount for the actual gelato you get (the staff would smear a bit of toppings off of the mountain when they prepare...

Anita Gelato is a Dream Come True! I stumbled upon Anita Gelato while exploring the Upper East Side, and wow—what a find! The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm aroma of fresh waffle cones and a stunning display of gelato that looked like edible art. I tried the pistachio and lemon pie flavors, and both were out of this world—creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. Even the smallest cup came with two generous scoops, which felt like such a treat. The staff was incredibly friendly and patient, offering samples and helping me choose from their huge variety. The shop itself is spotless and beautifully decorated, making it a perfect little escape from the city buzz. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Anita Gelato is a must-visit. THIS IS THE BEST GELATO. I have been to a lot of gelato places and this gelato is better than all the gelato places, even Italy gelato. It’s also really clean when they get gelato on anything they clean it up immediately, they don’t use a dirty rag to clean it up like some other places. The people are very nice! They have a lot of unique flavors, all the flavors in my opinion are amazing! It is really cold out and it still was really amazing, I’ve been here three times in four days. If you’re coming here in the summer it will taste even better. If you have tasted better gelato I would be really surprised.
